Great video. Next time ride up Mountain straight so you have earned the descent. I only ever ride laps of it. I'm on a road bike and I'm 56 and 110kg , so it's doable. Best time to ride is the week before the race. The road is closed to cars but not bikes. No police, 85 kmh on Conrod 😊

Thanks for sharing ,what's the bag you are using on your Surly Moloko bar ?

That is the Dr Jones bag from Rockgeist. I’m pretty happy with it. I like the map pocket on top and webbing on the front for extra gear. But, be aware, it’s not waterproof (but nothing is waterproof in that much rain!) rockgeist.com/product/jones-bag/

@@mike-coles Thanks , I discovered this when doing LEJOG in torrential rain & 40mph winds ,I undid a pocket that my phone was in & water just fell out .Ortlieb was the one bag that did hold up though .

Great video Rob, it's good you could be flexible. Did you cycle back up to your car after getting to the bottom?

On Mount Panorama we cycled individually with the other following in our car, just in case there was an issue/accident the support vehicle was only ever a few seconds away.
