Making Memory Bears and Dinosaurs| Making Tangible Memories

Welcome back! This video is different. I made this project to help my kids and myself work through the loss of a loved one. I plan to start making more videos that are sewing, but not always costumes. If anyone ever wants or needs ideas or inspiration, I hope this is that for someone. Sewing is a big part of me, but being a mom is an even bigger part. Helping your children walk through grief while walking through it yourself isn't something I ever could have really prepared for. These stuffed animals have helped all of us. Thank you for watching!

How did u do the nose

@@maloney0083 I cut a piece of felt out with the pattern piece and whip stitched it on by hand. I think for the first one I made i stitched it on at the end after the bear was done. But quickly realized it would be better to do it before assembly. So for the rest of them I sewed them on before I put it all together. I think I tried sewing them on with a zigzag stitch but didn’t like how that turned out.

I know how u feel . I loved my grandpa more than anyone and it destroyed me. I was very close to him annd he had hankys too. Im in south texas so yeah the south farm men carry hankys.

I’m so sorry. 😞 I understand. It’s been a couple of years and I still feel a tight pain when something comes up. My husband was flipping through some older pictures the other day and randomly a picture of my Pawpaw with my oldest son as a toddler with my son on a golf cart popped up and I was totally not prepared and just lost it for a few minutes. I’m glad you had a good one too. The memories are special.

Where did you get the pattern for the bears and vest

I’m pretty sure I got it at Wal-Mart. It’s probably elsewhere as well though. It’s “It’s Sew Simple McCall’s L9547” if that helps. 🙂
