I grew up on that island, and I'm going back up there in about 3 weeks. Awesome video!! I can tell you that storms like that is actually not uncommon in winter... I have even woken up on Christmas morning with a fishing boat leaning on the house in the morning - as it got loose and drifted with the spring tide and huge waves on land. The depiction of the island is actually exceptionally real like - almost to the tee on the parts where you play the most. My grandfather had his sheep on the Vedøya and Storfjellet. And I've walked those islands and mountains hundred of times, when checking on the newborn lambs or for cutting the wool from the grown sheep. I highly recommend going there if you can - it's a once in a lifetime experience. Vedøya and Trenyken (Only called Nykan in the game) also have caves where there are prehistoric cave paintings over 9000 years old. There's also rememnants from viking settlements on Storfjellet. My dad even lived on Skomvær Lighthouse as a kid as my Gradfather was the lighthouse attendant when my dad was young. Fantastic place, with a warm and fantastic people ❤️

It sucks that the whiny babies have ruined yet another of these games, like the did Fishing: North Atlantic because they couldn't handle the waves, so the devs took them out and never put them back in. That's part of what makes it a SIMULATOR. If you can't play the game because it's too hard, maybe you should play solitaire???

oh not to mention, waves in real life don't float over docks via no clipping. And the "Complaining" you are talking about is people giving them bad reviews, Bad reviews still exist because then the company can realize "Hey, maybe we should fix our sh*t"

That storm gives me anxious Brick Immortar vibes, half expecting him to narrate how your ship went down and you barely escaped I mean high praise to the devs for that, but yes, Brick Immortar is the first thing I thought of when I saw the storm, and suddenly glad it's not me playing in that. No way I am going out in that. Been out in a Force 10 gale RL and that was enough for me on a massive ferry boat about 20-25 years ago

It's early access, but I think it's really important they work a bit more on the physics of these boats in the water. it feels way too arcadey and doesn't sell me on the sluggishness of the bigger boats.

about listing, some boats list into turns and some out of turns, specifically small boats turn into the turn and bigger turn out, tho there are exceptions, from the little i've heard and seen on it, it's about the propeller placement and hull shape. and if it's propeller yaw steering or rudder steering.

Hi M8, one advice, avoid save game near the fish farm, its bugged and when you load the game the ship spawn bellow the farm NET and wreck.

That looks like a catamaran hull design (note the twin hulls with the 'tunnel' in between when looking at the stern). Those are designed for a flatter, more stable ride in rough / choppy seas, and generally don't lean into turns the same way as a deep-v or mono-hull craft.

@jfavignano ships do list, I'm not sure what you're trying to talk about, yeah they turn on a yaw axis but they still list, now which way depends on hull design

Been waiting to see a good storm in this game. Is that amount of money kind of game breaking? Feels like you should be able to have a fleet of ships with crew working some of them for you if money is that easy to make.

I spent 500k on fish farm took out a 300k loan then sold my boat engine for 108k and bought 50 fish and then bought roughly 40k in food and sold for 3 million definitely worth it i had 19k left before selling so i was super happy seeing 3 million for selling but without alot of miles under my belt sadly couldnt buy new boat so soent roughly 4 to 5 hrs grinding that but luckily auto pilot just got released its a little wonky tbh but overall it seems good enough for deep sea trips

Unfortunately, we had to temporarily disable net fishing because players were unable to complete it. We are currently reworking the net fishing mechanics and will reintroduce it in an improved and working state very soon. @@stankbagel1265 does that change the value? no.. there's not 25 bucks worth of game here. if you are going to release something this early it shouldn't be priced at what this game is priced at. i'd try it for 10 bucks. i immediately returned it when i saw the 2004 caliber water physics.

@greezy283 well then it's simple, don't buy it yet, they have a development plan that goes to a set release year, wait till then to play it, you're acting like the game will Stay this way when it's not, and stop complaining about 25 bucks, you're lucky it's that price and not the standard 60 70 80 bucks some games are, call of duty is not worth that money, you're paying 25 bucks for a brand new game that is still in early development and you know will not stay in its current state and unreal engine 5 and the so far really good graphics, ocean games are hard to make too, the fact they aren't charging more is surprising

Another great video i enjoyed this alot and man the storms in the game is pretty wicked. And man thag is one huge fishing boat u bought i love it. And i been loving watching this would definitely love to see more of this. On steam it says it has online coop but idk how its implemented. EDIT: I just watched a video on the multiplayer and you can't jobs together or board each others boats, you just appear in the same world together

Hey JEFF quick question how are you getting your game to save I can’t get passed the tutorial cause the game is not keeping the saves I do. Once I back out to the main menu it deletes my saves. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thank you

Scroll across on your saved games. It lists your auto saves first (which wasn’t working before) so when you open the list it looks empty. It’s there to the right

@@Eddiedgksame. They took out the massive waves like in the beginning of this video which makes me sad but people were complaining too much about not being able to dock/undock without taking damage. Hope they get those massive waves reimplemented soon.

The earnings seem to be a little unbalanced in my opinion. Making 65million in a single boat run, and the next ipgrade boat you need only costs 1.5 million.
