"now this emoti looks like a serial killer" That cracked me up. The emoti, while cute, does look like a serial killer.

Helen, this video will help so many people. I've been scrolling through Reddit lately. I see so many posts in the Planner/Hobinichi/Bullet Journal subreddits where people are low-key terrified to start because it might not be perfect. When KZbinrs and planner influencers share their mistakes, it hopefully reminds us all that we are human beings, doing our best. Practicing self-compassion opens you to so much more peace and enjoyment. ❤

I do transcription for my job, so I am hyper aware of how long it takes to type audio. 15 minutes is a lot! So please don't stress over that. Speaking for a length of time dehydrates you, which can also lead to vocal fatigue. Have water nearby. Room temperature, not iced. Or warm tea. Nothing with dairy. (I used to also sing on the worship team at my old church, and used to take voice lessons. All these things help!)

I love the way you plan and i can understand why people can view it as perfect it’s because it’s so consistent as an outsider but like you said only you can really pinpoint most of the mistakes that you made 😊💕 thanks for always inspiring Helen and happy new year!🎊

I really think this video is something every planner should see. I think we all have this hangup with perfection especially when it's in a planner or notebook that will eventually become an analog keepsake of our memories. I, for example, use the midori correction tape, sometimes. It depends on how drastic the mistake is. If it's an easy fix midori correction tape to the rescue. Another issue with correction tape is that you cant use fountain pens on them, at least the midori one I cannot. I also just use a simple line through and continue moving on. I learned that from my ex bf that got me into fountain pens. He always used one simple line through in his journal. I found that to be extremely liberating. I only recently got into the sticker cover up. I had to do that when i sectioned off a bunch of hours on my weekly hobo cousin. I thought WWHD? and poof sticker to the rescue. I have to admit I'm probably looking forward to your Christmas video tomorrow more than I'm actually looking forward to Christmas. Happy Christmas Helen and Family. I hope you have a lovely, lovely day celebrating.

This was so inspiring. Thanks for reminding me mistakes are OK. I've been procrastinating setting up my Hobonichi for 2024 bc I fear mistakes and this gave me that nudge I needed, you're the best!

As a mystery writer, I totally want that serial killer emoti now! LOL And I had to wince at the "All or nothing" thing because I do that all the time! I'm feeling totally called out by this video now! LOL

Ha! I started setting up my 2024 Hobonichi cousin and guess what? I already have mistakes in it! I'm getting over it. Mine will never looks as beautiful and near perfect as yours, but that's OK. You're terrific at what you do and just watching your videos gives me more pleasure than angst about mistakes I make in my planner. Wishing you and your family a wonderful Christmas.

okay this one of my favorite videos from your channel now! loved this so much, I struggled with a mistake on one of my favorite weeks spread last week and I was so upset until I fixed it with liquid paper and stickers (and it was so easy to fix). thank you for this video & the ideas! ❤️

The all or nothing mentality is a beast and has lead to paralysis in my cousin. Now the guilt & shame quickly follows. 😢 Thank you for sharing how you handle this. I will try to do better in 2024 in my sterling ink common planner. So thankful you made the different size stickers for different planners. 🤗 Merry Christmas

Thank you for this beautiful and honest video 🥰 Other factors to keep in mind are how much time you have available and how much experience you have with writing by hand, doodling, etc. I had my most beautiful/perfect spreads when I had a lot of time on my hands. The more hectic your everyday life gets, the more it inhibits writing time and also often creative juices. Also, beginners who have never been very creative before simply cannot expect their spreads to look like those of artists or people who have tons of doodlie practice. Just start small and you will improve every year! If you are no doodle person, you can always go back to using stickers. There are so many pretty options available.

Thank you Helen. The perfectionism bug bit me this year really hard! The entire year afraid to be in my cousin daily and only really kept up with the monthly and weeklies. 2024 my goal is let my creative juices flow and use up my stash! Thank you for sharing.

What are your tips for doodling and drawing in your planner? I have trouble figuring out how to draw things so I often have to look up pictures and copy those. How do you draw something so effortlessly without having to sketch with pencil first? Merry Christmas Eve! 🎄❤️

Serial killer emoti 😂 Thank you so much for this video! I struggle with perfectionism and clearly remember throwing a brand new planner out because I made one mistake. One mistake. Mistakes happen often and I work around it now….or try to. I just move to the next weekly spread and try to remember that I am growing.

Last year I found some cute Christmas themed number stickers from a Cocoa Daisy kit a few years prior to that. One afternoon I decided to stick them in my A6 for the month of December. About the time I put down the one for the 14h I realized they were Christmas countdown stickers! 🤦♀So they ended on the 25th instead of 31st and I was ok with that. But then I realized I had TCMC New Year's countdown stickers to save the day for the rest of the month! Perfect! 🤣Everything is fixable!

The first few mistakes in any Hobonichi hurt more than mistakes in any other or planner or notebook 😂🙈 but once you’ve made a few & lived, it’s a lot easier to move on & worry less. PS to anyone reading, I highly recommend stickering over mistakes! Go wacky with a full sticker collage! I swear it’s therapeutic.

I think this is such a good video idea! In school, I was encouraged to draw a line through a mistake when I wrote in pen so I habitually do it now😅 I can not bring myself to use white-out unless it’s for a document that I need to scan and I only have one copy of (writing on it is not for me) lol, and also, I’m so glad you didn’t recommend ripping pages out of notebooks because I die inside every time I see someone do that😭 Anyways, happy Christmas Eve and happy new year ╰(*´︶`*)╯♡
