Thank you so much for sharing your gift. You are an excellent teacher your voice is very calm and steady. I could and probably will watch you all day! I'm from Lax Kw'alaams in BC Canada. I have been wanting to try my hand at making moccasins for decades and have finally found the supplies needed. Your clear instructions are making me feel more confident. Beautiful work on the mocs as well! Thank you 😊💓

Very good video. Straight to the point. The thing I do different is I use split down artificial sinew. I have never worked with German tan hide but after seeing your beautiful moccasins I think I will try it.

Beautiful, butterfly design beadwork and nice end results. Thanks! That leather reminds me oc the chamois leather you can buy at Autozone or other auto supply. Soft and a bit more easy to work
@QuinWhaPaCreations Жыл бұрын
It is soft. It’s German tanned buckskin. Thicker than the chamois.

At 7:00, I noticed that your beadwork has material, like a cotton fabric, on the back. Did you glue that on there? What kind of fabric is it? What the purpose, does it strengthen the hide, to give the work body? I don't see it helping the beads or the thread, because they still show. Just curious 🧐
@QuinWhaPaCreations2 жыл бұрын
Cotton fabric applied with Heat n Bond. Provides stability and stiffness
@wildcatyellowbird59752 жыл бұрын
Good morning loved your video can I ask what did you use for backing for the beadwork?
@QuinWhaPaCreations2 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure what you mean. I did the beadwork in lazy stitch right onto the leather.
@wildcatyellowbird59752 жыл бұрын
@@QuinWhaPaCreations at 7 mins 13 secs I can see a backing just wondering what it was looks like cotton material or lining of some sort?
@QuinWhaPaCreations2 жыл бұрын
@@wildcatyellowbird5975 oh okay I put heat n bond on the moccasin top before beading. When I finished I ironed on a cotton liner. I hope that answers your question.

Watched your video for the 7th time! I think I almost have a pattern. Just have a couple of questions. 1) after marking the 3" line across the arch, 2nd line goes straight down....I see you stopped about 1" shy of the end, is there a reason? 2) cutting the tounge...logic says 3" wide, but how long and do you round one end, cut in a "V" shape or is it preference? Thank you
@QuinWhaPaCreations4 жыл бұрын
I went about 1/8 of an inch past my footprint. You can go all the way and cut off the access after you have sewn it to the heel. Cutting the tongue as in any part of it is preference.
@rholbrook80094 жыл бұрын
@@QuinWhaPaCreations Approximately how long should the tongue be? 3" Wide by ???? I don't want to cut it too short. I believe I may have an "real" pattern! I'm so excited, but I am quite anxious at the same time. I appreciate the time you took to make this video and share your knowledge. Miigwetch
