To make an edgy evil version of a good character, there needs to be an actual good version of said character, which in the case of 2011 Liu Kang was about until the MK2 section of the game, then he became kind of a hot head. The only good thing that came out of Revenant Liu was the dialoge between him and Raiden in MKX in the temple at the end of the game, that was kinda cool.

@@herbalyzoltan409 Meh, suit yourself. I was never a fan of Revenant Liu or even Zombie Liu in the Midway era. The Revenants are all jobbers with cookie cutter vengeful personalities and Zombie Liu was just a mindless killer which sort of made it feel like even more of a slap in the face for me, since he is my favorite character.

That reminds me, there's a real Kuai Liang who was alive during the Three Kingdoms Era. I laughed when I found his name in DW8XL but when I looked it up, there he is, on Wikipedia. I dunno how the guys named Subzero II but there's probably someone in Midway who read Romance of the Three Kingdoms (Dynasty Warriors probably hasn't existed yet back then)

Hey The4thSnake, what’s with NRS’ strange interest with Kabal and Stryker? In Mortal Kombat Annihilation, Rain mentions that they captured Kabal and Stryker. In Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks, one of the texts you can see after dying is ‘Who would win: Kabal or Stryker?’ Then in Mortal Kombat: Amageddon, the first person to engage Stryker on the pyramid is Kabal. Finally in MK9, Kabal and Stryker are a cop duo.

Yeaaah, that's the eternal dilemma with Baraka, he's basically impossible to recreate in character creators very well. Either there's none or not enough monstrous facial options available (and even if there are they likely don't match him), or there's no weapon styles or moves that fit him. Something's always off in the end. Think the malefic race of SC6 is the closest any character creator has come to replicating tarkatan facial features, but even that still looks off in the end. Sheesh, even outside MK my favorite character can't be done justice That aside, I think you did pretty well with what you had availabile here. Liu Kang especially looks great here, and I really liked Sonya, Sub-Zero, and even Reptile as well. Shao Kahn and Jax weren't too bad either really, least to me. Wouldn't mind seeing more As for why the enemies kept dropping so easily in combat, well, I can only guess since I've never played a Dynasty Warriors game before, but I'd assume its just because easy severely weakens them Also, 35:15, how fitting

The creation stuff is the only reason I'd ever get 9 empires when/if it comes out (and is on sale ofc). I hope that the smaller scale maps they intend to use will make it slightly more... Playable and less... DW9 :o

While it would need some non-canon setting similar to Shaolin Monks, I would really enjoy a MK Musou game... Well, perhaps, but I feel the best version of boiling down MK into a more open fighting mayhem was Shaolin Monks because it allowed many opponents, many settings, and allowed for 1 on 1 finishing moves to instantly dispatch certain foes which that lasp part is a bit harder to do in a Musou setting when it's the 1 vs 1000 gameplay. But hey, maybe there needs to be more MK games without fatalities to restructure some semblance of story and character...
