3 жыл бұрын

This cursed series continues! I am once again making music with an instrument generator. I tried a new generator and got some interesting instruments this time around that I've never worked with! It also gave me a LOT of...interesting mixes. And by that, I mean mixes I absolutely did not want. But they all made for fun challenges! Enjoy as I make my way through another set of random challenges! This is me "Making Music With an Instrument Name Generator" part 2!

I'm picturing a town in a video game where large groups of people from all over the world were teleported into a single town and eventually bands started forming with instruments from all over the world, a combination of cultures in every song.

The first song sounds like the music that plays whenever the main character of an RPG is stressed with a tough decision, especially ones relate to the main villian. The second song sounds like it could be the battle music for enemies and the drum version for tougher enemies. The third song sounds like a desert and beach overworld area. The fourth song sounds like what would play after you defeat a difficult miniboss and they tell you a tragic backstory of why they are working for the main villian and you are given the choice to have them join your party or to end their pain.

When becoming a professional at playing the didgeridoo, you learn how to breath in through your nose and exhale through your mouth in to the instrument at the same time.
@kirstyshadowdancer5095
@kirstyshadowdancer5095 3 жыл бұрын
The didgeridoo rarely plays one note at any time, the length and width of it typically means there's two notes playing a third apart, you can do quite a fair range of notes, as well as sound effects, trills and percussion. Basically think of a Beatboxer, only with an echo chamber effect on them and they're playing a bassoon at the same time.

First song: CastleVania, but the people at Konami were drunk from all the money they made with Super CastleVania IV, so they choose random instruments. Second song: One of the instruments from the Stinky song escaped and found itself in a battle theme written by a guy with a String fetish. Third song: A spanish musician finds his way to Hawaii, where he has an intense battle with the (hawaiian) woman he fell in love with? Fourth song: Actual Secret Of Mana track, but another instrument from the Stinky theme escaped in search of fresh air. I liked all of them though, and am as amazed as usual that you can produce stuff on that level with random instruments.

This concept reminds me a bunch of the jam band I was a part of in California. I played drums, but we had two electric guitars, an acoustic guitar, a ukulele, an upright bass, and a saxophone. Weird funk of a sound, but surprisingly fresh and light sounding. Somehow, the uke wasn't drowned out. Basically it would start either with me laying down a beat and different instruments building on that, or, for a really easy listening sorta vibe, either the acoustic guitar or upright bass would come in first with drums coming in last to tie everything together. A real change of pace for me coming from a mostly metal background with some random swing and jazz tossed in.

That third song sounds like something out of the Age of Mythology soundtrack in the best possible way

The third song kinda sounded like the animated music instrument videos from like 10 years ago, meaning it’s a total banger

For the record, most didgeridoos can only play one pitch, unless you have a slide, which is self explanatory

The 2nd song where you threw in those drums to spice it up, made it much better :P

Fun fact: the first song you made contains a specific four note melody called the dies irae, which usually indicates death. It's used in a lot of movies, but is usually disguised. The most prominent example is the voice in Frozen 2, it sings to the tune of the dies irae.
