hey I've had my Axolotl for 2 and a half years and she is about 3 years old for Im thinking of getting her a tank mate do you think it will be ok

It depends on your tank size, for Gary and Migi we have a 120cm long. You should also take another female at around the same size as your axolotl. I hope it will go well :)
