Making My FIRST 2.2 Level!

I've never been much of a creator, but today that all changes. Today, I'll be embarking on my journey to get atleast a rated level in 2.2. I have a couple projects I'll be attempting to decorate and one of them is this: a traditional sidescrolling level!

Fun fact: there’s no more need to alpha out groups, there’s a “Hide” option in the “Extra” menu of the Group editor, and that alone makes the object invisible as it was alpha-ed out without need of Alpha triggers Rob always thinks of us 😚

I think "No Audio Scale" in the orb settings makes it so the teleporter don't mess with your audio.

With the level ending too early, just place a random spike or something like 20 blocks away from where the gameplay ends. I always use it when playtesting with start positions

You can turn on allow multi activate on teleport portals on the edit special tab so you don’t need to place multiple.

hey, here's some info about shaders. there's a shader named just "shader", and it can change stuff of other shaders. for example, you can click two layers, and it will make the shader only affect objects in those two layers of your choice. and yes, you can choose only one layer by clicking it twice. I haven't used the other stuff in that trigger yet, but I think you'll figure it out.

A trick I use for the end wall issue when testing a layout, is just to scroll really far through the level and place some sort of object

If you go in the blocks menu in the level editor and go left, you see these blocks. Press Edit Special on that block and press Paste Tempelate. Those weird shapes you can put them inside your blocks you made. Then select the weird block, not the one you created and press Browser, Make a new template, name it, get out of that, press tempelate, use your new template, get out of that, press template, then whenever you use that block, the block you made will be there by pressing Create in the weird block. Hope this helps!

you don't need to use an invis group anymore, in the "extras" section of the groups section you can select hide and then it hides. you should now only use alpha triggers mid level if you want (alpha triggers are pretty much platformer/coin route exclusive now

pro tip: instead of using the alpha trigger, select an object, click edit group, and click extra and check the “Hide” checkbox. You can show the hidden objects in the editor by unchecking “Hide Invisible” in the pause menu
