Loved watching this! But I was wondering, sorry if you've already said but - do you find that the clear contact paper shrinks like some of the other contact paper does? Also, I don't have a deck to use as a base - would you think using card stock or thin chip board like cereal boxes would be best? Which would you choose? You've inspired me so much to try doing something creative like this! Thank you! 💜

I have not had a problem with this clear contact paper shrinking. It's holding up really well actually. I think any type of thin cardboard or thicker cardstock should work (just depends on how thick you want the cards, keeping in mind the paper you will layer on top.) It'll just take a bit more time as you'll need to cut them all down into cards. You could also go to like a dollar store and buy some cheap kids cards (like playing cards, flash cards or those prepackaged card games like "Go Fish".) You can usually get those for a dollar or two and then they would already be cut to size for you. I hope that helps! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️

Do you think it’d be possible to back the cards with vinyl? Are they still ok to shuffle?

I have never used actual vinyl on my cards, I wonder if that would be too thick then to actually shuffle? Occasionally I run into that issue with contact paper, if it's really thick the deck gets really big and bulky. I think it would depend on how thick the vinyl was. Sorry I am not more help on that! I know it's a bit late to respond, but anyway. You can try to search for card sleeves! Make your cards a size of sleeve you want to use, e.g. tarot size 70 X 120 cm (sorry, I am European and don't use inches), there are also oversized ones more fitting for big oracle decks. Then after you finish the deck, just put them in and you have more consistent in texture and smooth cards. :) They are not super great to shuffle, but it's definitely more comfortable than the collaged cards with many edges and layered papers. Just a thought!
