Rod - your boy is becoming quite the angler taking after his dad! Clearly, he thinks the world of you and he’s taken your teaching to heart. I’ve noticed massive improvement in his “pulling up - winding down” technique and his got heaps of heart and muscle in his rod handling skill. Great fish, great trip - awesome experience!

Love seeing you out teaching Fox the ropes. I lost my dad last year at the ripe old age of 96. I miss him terribly, but I have so many great memories of spending time alone with him, fishing for trout and kokanee, hunting dove pheasant and chukar, hunting deer elk and bear. You are giving Fox memories he will treasure when he’s in his 90’s. Cheers!

Huge congrats mate for the TFI award. Both my partner and I voted for you separately and we got everyone we know to vote for you as well. You are the best "storyteller" in the fishing vid world and we always look forward to your vids each week. Sorry to see you sick on the trip with Briggsy and the boys but huge props again for putting together a post for us all. I think i would speak for a few of us older guys if you could talk us through your views on the bigger stabi cabin boat - protection, fishing room, ride, etc. I've always had open boats, and do now, as i think it is the best fishing platform but when i'm walking around at Northside picking up odds and ends, I always end up looking through the Stabi and Surtees cabin boats for the protection when the conditions are not as forecast (and that is often!) I got absolutely smashed in the bay near Moreton a couple of weeks ago!

Its so hard for kids to not get upset when they lose a fish. Ya gotta convince them, there is a reason that its not called catching. A lotta time ya don’t actually catch the fish. Sometimes they come off or they dont bite at all. Thats why its fishing! Fox is a natural. Reminds me of me. I caught my first chinook salmon probably when i was maybe 7 or 8 years old. No matter how old he gets, Fishing will be in his blood
