Great work! I'm glad my bumper gap filler suited your needs. I'll look into adding that contour to improve the fitment for the T-badge. Question though: what did you do about the wire tension? Does anyone know where to get the same connectors used for the sensors. Maybe someone can make wire extenders and sell back to the community?
@wnix05
@wnix05 5 жыл бұрын
Great question. We ultimately cut the sensor wires and soldered on about 4" of cable heat-shrinking the connections to make it water tight. I had no issues with the hood release, it fit perfectly. Tho only fitment issue on top was the Homelink sensor and (you'll notice in the video) we just shaved off some of the Tesla Badge Support bracket.

Why is there a need to use the universal lower grille material? Can you use what was the lower grille from the Model S 2.0?
@wnix05
@wnix05 4 жыл бұрын
Yes you could use the v 2.0 lower grille but it will get into the way if you have the radar. That's why I used what I did and trimmed around the radar. The facelift model S actually has the radar behind the actual bumper to the left of the license plate.

You will run into issues changing to a facelift hood with a 2013 model. On or around 2015 they went to the single latch for the hood. It would look nicer with the new hood, but honestly I never thought it was worth the challenge. Go with the hood filler and another old hood, and it will look great. A friend of mine put this together and it really goes into detail with all the parts: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1vrjTilAsoO2crMhvpLcN4PZODlqGaxjpEwLGLBl3i3E/edit?usp=sharing

@@wnix05 great, thank you so much so replying. and that's one hell of a spreadsheet. I checked and my 2013's hood has a single latch. with that said, u think it's worth a try with a new hood? And if i go with an old hood, where can i buy the hood filler ?

Hi thanks for the great video guide! Planning on doing this as well :) 1. Does the stock ducting in front of the centre radiator fit behind the new look bumper? 2. The old nosecone has two black coloured parking sensors did you have to get new blue ones?
@wnix05
@wnix05 4 жыл бұрын
Awesome! Yes, all the internal ducting remains. The center bottom has a facelifted duct, but I just filled it with the grille. Second, the two black parking sensors I painted with touch-up paint. Not the best solution as they don't wear well when washing, but it's that or get 2 new sensors...

The 2015 Model S has a single latch just like the 2016. I’m not sure when they moved away from the double latch, but that had given people issues in the past. I had zero issues with the latch.
