Does anyone know where to get the same connectors used for the sensors. Maybe someone can make wire extenders and sell back to the community?
@wnix055 жыл бұрын
Great question. We ultimately cut the sensor wires and soldered on about 4" of cable heat-shrinking the connections to make it water tight. I had no issues with the hood release, it fit perfectly. Tho only fitment issue on top was the Homelink sensor and (you'll notice in the video) we just shaved off some of the Tesla Badge Support bracket.

If the hood from a Model S 2.0 were used would it eliminate the need for the grille filler and would it be a direct bolt on?
@wnix054 жыл бұрын
Yes, it would eliminate the need for the grille filler. However you will run into issues with the latch being different v 1.0 vs v 2.0.

Do you not want us to actually hear any words you were saying by putting that loud music in over your voice? Other than that it was a was a great video and it looks awesome.

Also did you have to relocate the horn or anything like that?
@wnix055 жыл бұрын
I did not have to relocate any horn, or homelink, or hood latches.

@@wnix05 I would like to do this on my 2012. Can anyone help me. Rich Rebuild? anyone
@wnix054 жыл бұрын
@@dmcclend Check the description I wrote. I listed everything you would need. You run into another complication with a 2012 model in that it doesn't have parking sensors but the new bumper will. You will either have to get plugs or dummy sensors or you could use some of the prepackaged facelifts...

Sweet! It’s a great mod to the car. What do you want to know? There’s a detailed documentation here: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1vrjTilAsoO2crMhvpLcN4PZODlqGaxjpEwLGLBl3i3E/edit

To be honest, who in the right mind would make a tesla bumper look worse and put it in production line, the americans

So my question is, could I use the gen 1 Model S bumper on my 2018? I actually like the front end better.
