Making of 210x310cm (6,8x10,1ft) CNC Router

Hi, we built a 3-axis cnc router for a company to use especially for machining ACRYLIC, PVC FOAM and 3D terrain models.
Used materials and 2D, 3D drawings:

8,5 m 1,5 module rack
3 x 1,5 module 20t helical gear

4 x Leadshine DMA860E stepper motor driver
550mm Hiwin R20-5 ball screw
Hiwin R20-5 T3 FSI ball screw nut
Arel 2,2kW 18000 rpm spindle

The soldering done at 15:50 to 16:00 was a "cold" solder joint which will fail with vibration or movement. What you want to do is heat up the solder cup with the tip of your iron, fill the cup with solder, then put the wire fully into the solder cup. Before you remove the soldering iron you want to see the solder wick up the wire slightly (and produce a nice fillet) then remove and allow to cool. Will be a superior solder joint. Very cool (and VERY big) CNC router!

Just a Tip:The side Parts for Y Axis are very Thin (Black Parts) . you will have a lot of vibration and inaccuracy in y direction milling Hard Material.

The side plates could be made more rigid by welding on reinforcing ribs at 90 degrees and interconnecting them.

Nice project! Can you tell where you got the 27x170 profile for the Z axis, I have looked everywhere, and can't find anything like it! It is PERFECT for Z axis plate.

At least half of the wiring is safety/limit sensors to keep it from wrecking itself. For something built to work soft materials, it seems a bit more than just sturdy.

Merhaba Erol Bey. 500Watt ve üzeri tüm spindle motorlar, takım çapını küçük tuttuğunuz sürece plastik işleme amaçlı kullanılabilir. 1-1.5 kW civarı bir motor ise daha garanti bir çözüm olacaktır. Daha büyük kesim operasyonlarında ise 2.2 - 3kW civarı bir motor tercih edilebilir. İyi çalışmalar dileriz.

Z eksende kullanılan profili Doğuş Kalıp'ta yüzey profili olarak bulabilirsiniz. 27*170 idi yanlış hatırlamıyorsam. Yataklama için BF15 kullanılmıştı.

Coming from an industry that utilizes lasers, your statement regarding material waving due to laser cutting is both misleading and inaccurate. If you receive material that has a wave to it, the laser is undersized for the application, and chances are your dimensions are off. Lasers rely on heat in direct relationship to speed. Wave is caused by decreased speed and high output. Which is why it is important to have the proper tool to do the job. The chances of your 8mm or 10mm plate being warped or wavy are almost nonexistant.
