Asalam alaikm Hi every one in Saudi Arabia we don't need too do all these procedure. Because the climate is very hot and dry and the dates well be completely ready and dry before harvested. So the dates in Saudi are completely healthy and natural. No need fo chemicals , oil or colors.

salehsky Down here in the arab world we call this cheating , its to collect the dates pre mature and coke it in boiling water and some corn starch to make it look like ripen dates, then the oil it and shake it to look good in storing . Originally the natural suger and most of the nutritions are gone and the glucose and primary sugars are transformed to be processed food and the low quality oil will make it even worse. Advice the people to stop this kind of procedure and give the palm tree the proper care to harvest good quality ripping date and store it directly after washing in air free medium and adding 10 grams of salt to every 20 kg of stored dates in order for the dates hony to extract (osmosis way) around the stored dates instead of doing this very ugly and un-healthy way .

For all viewers and critics. First of all I would like to tell all that this is not my business and these are not my relatives. In fact this area is 1000KM away from my hometown. I just viaited this place during my job and shot this video just for one friend who needed this. So, people who are criticising should realize that I am not running a business of dry dates. If someone is interested, he should search some other person for business. Secondly, these are dry dates and this process is of making of dry dates from dates, so people saying that they were very fond of dates before watching this video and will never eat dates after watching this should not worry, perhaps they never hade eaten this thing in their life as these are dry dates rather than dates. Harvesting dates is like any other vegetable or fruit, so you need to rinse before you eat. Not just to get rid of any dirt but also to get rid of the pesticides and fungicides used by big business farming. Do you know what's worse than seeing people put dates on the floor before processing? It is getting the landscaper to cut out all dates before they ripen and throw them in the chipper with the pruned fronds. SMH, we just got about 25 gallons of yellow dates, I guess they are called Kalal, and now we are going to spread them out on the trampoline and let them bake in the hot Las Vegas sun. Can you believe these rich folks in their gated community who can't stand a few sticky dates falling on their expensive cars and call the landscaper to get rid of the "nuisance"? Every year we find out they did it before we could do a salvage. This year we were ready. Not what am I going to do with 25 gallons of dates? And can I plant the seeds?

Thank you Shahid... I've figured it out... Going to make a LOT of date syrup and then put the pulps in jars to ferment. Maybe I can make some nice date wine or beer. Also going to freeze a few pounds and can some more as jam. The rest go to family and friends. I am still upset that people don't harvest them from all these date palms in Las Vegas. Considering how expensive they are per pound, people are really missing out on a goldmine. Such a WASTE.
