Making blades aren't that easy .. this is production work.. experienced one can do it .. but knife or sword maker need ten times skill set than this

Pretty awesome guys. Loved seeing your process. Curious about the quench. I was expecting the hammer to be pulled about 1/2 way through and figured someone was going to watch temper colors run. I make baby hammers in comparison and it takes me multiple heats just to punch the eye by hand. Again great work!

Well that's just it. while this is technically hand forged, I'm not saying it isn't, He has a big and extremely powerful power hammer , while you probably have to whack the dirt in with your human arms.

Do you have a UV lens filter? That would help the metal not auto-balance the whole picture I believe.

that was a piece of train track. why dont more people forge out of train track instead of turning them into anvils. we need more vids like those

Its popular in industry. Like most bed frame made in the states are half decent knife steel, as they were made from rr track. Shovels are another common item to be made from rr track. The Japanese used rail road tracks torn up across java, china and Korea to make the core of the gunto style swords used during ww2.

That is an old rail piece. Usually it is a high carbon alloy and would make a great sledge hammer.
