You can tell Chester was really enthusiastic about this album and happy about the process that led to it. Albums are always good when people are that enthusiastic about the process.

"We have so many different faces that you can't just stick it in one spot." They're not nu metal, they're Linkin Park. Expecting them to keep releasing albums with the same style is both boring and stupid. If you don't like the new stuff, don't listen to it. If you like nu metal, listen to nu metal. This is Linkin Park. They did nu metal in the past, it doesn't mean they have to keep doing it.

Honestly I think at this stage a characteristic of a nu-metal bands is that they aren't JUST nu-metal, especially nowadays.

This is what I love about LP, they try to appeal to all audiences of music lovers not just one. I like the mixture it's what makes them unique! Another thing I love about LP is that they don't have one main stand out leader in the band, everyone stands out. I also love how they aren't fighting for everyone to love them, they just are being themselves and that's why I love them! A lot of singers seem to forget that.

the only people that do that are hurt because they loved LP in their old days and feel like they're gone but they're not they just grew up you don't need to worry about them they'll soon get over it & realise you don't have to adore every single lp song to be a fan We still are a big family:) and wow you go way back with lp! I'm13 now & started liking them when i was 7 and i heard what i've done I didn't like them that much to start with but later i heard one step closer and now I'm a huge fan:D

Honestly this is my favorite album by them now, and I've followed Linkin Park for years. Living thing shows a true mix of all of the members styles, from hardcore hip hop, to punk rock. It's still filled with the old school aggressive lyrics we've grown to love, just in a medley of different music genres as well.

Joe isn't just "the guy that makes scratching noises in the songs". He does other stuff with turntables (which is what you were thinking of, by the way), he plays keyboards, synths, samplers, etc. Not to mention he's the director of 90% of Linkin Park's videos. He most certainly has not "disappeared". Ironically, he's probably the one making those electronic noises in the songs you find so disappointing. Sorry to burst your bubble, but there's more to music than heavy guitars and screaming.

I'd fucking pay just to watch them work, yes FUCKING PAY. Haven't seen this kind of commitment and dedication anywhere else, their work ethics are on a whole another level, from the melody to the album artwork, everything is fucking original and unlike anything else.

They've progressed so much since their debut. I had a revelation yesterday: Living Things and A Thousand Suns have genuinely become my favorite two LP albums.. when a year ago, I would've said I hated ATS. But they've innovated beyond my expectations to become even greater than they were.

I found LT to be their most powerful, diversified, and inspirational album to date. I do agree with the fact that the previous 4 cd's had to be before they could come to this breakthrough amalgam of sound(not that they weren't already unique and extremely creative) Every track has a different way of proving what LP is, what they stand for, and I am grateful they can't ever be stuck in just 1 spot. People can judge, but they're bringing music to a more meaningful and contemplative level.

This album has a very very different feel to the other albums. This goes through so many different genres it's unreal. You can be in the mood for a certain song but then think... im not sure ill listen to that song at the mo. Thats what i love about the linkin park discography, but for there to be even more diversity within one album is just phenominal. A true landmark!

I just finished listening to the entire album in iTunes, with the Stream. I was literally touched. I miss Hybrid Theory and Meteroa, but also liked the other albums. This album not only pays tribute to their older music, it sounds fresh, new, and has that unique sound only possible by Linkin Park. I used to think LP betrayed the fan base. Now I realize that they are the epitome of talent and sound. Welcome back Linkin Park. It's been a while.

I love this album the most. I love how this album is filled with many different genres. The hardcore that we first heard from Hybrid Theory and the new tastes we first heard in Minutes to Midnight. Overall I feel they combined it together and in the end many people will know that "its not rock. its not rap. Its Linkin Park" Just like what they said before that they want people to recognize their music by their name, and not by the genre of music in the album! Awesome job Linkin Park! Keep it up!

100% true ! They have a vision and they go according to that. They want every album to be different so they come up with different music. Technology in music industry is developing, so LP gets whatever new stuffs they could get and play around with that and get tunes out of it. We need to listen to their song with the time we are living in and that is PRESENT !!! I love LP and their dedication :) LP forever :)

The greatest way to appreciate this band: Take ALL of their songs, and put them on shuffle (ok, stuff like The Radiance you can probably skip lol). You'll get some of their newer stuff mixed with Hybrid Theory. You can then appreciate how they started, and how they've matured. I see greatness in all of these 5 albums. A quick message for LP if they see this: guys, don't stop what you're doing. Keep moving forward, you'll always have a huge group of supporters behind you.

I love Linkin Park more than any other band because they grew up with me. Every single one of their albums that they've released was perfect for the point in my life that I was at. Hybrid Theory/Meteora was perfect for when I was younger and just wanted that heavy music, whereas A Thousand Suns came at a time where I really needed think about life and what not. And right now, I need a lot of energy and this album is super high-energy. It's sad to see everyone insult them every step of the way.
