BASE FOR PARROT’S BODY:
Take one whole sheet of Newspaper and make a small ball sided TT ball approximately. Secure the ball with help of clear tape. Now grab another paper and make an oval shaped ball in a size of a kiwi approximately and secure this ball too with help of clear tape.
Now attach both the balls with some tape. Now take another sheet of paper and place the attached balls little upper than middle of paper and wrap to create body of parrot. Cut the excess paper and make it thinner at the end by wrapping for tail's place and secure it some tape. Grab some thread and secure it further with it. Give the body a nice press and at the place of head too tie and secure with the help thread to create a shape of neck.
COVERING IT WITH LEAVES:
BODY: Now take 4 Oleander leaves of different length and staple them at the edge to make feathers of tail and attach them at the end with help of a tape. Now take some soap-nut leaves and start wrapping with the help of thread overlapping one by one. Alternatively use clear tape and secure the leaves overlapping. Completely cover the whole body of the bird wrapping it with leaves starting with big ones to smaller size. Cover till the head and tightly wrap the thread and secure it with tape.
HEAD: Now take 6 to 8 Oleander leaves and cut both the edges in a cured way to make them of same length. Cover the head with the leaves placing them one side to other side (cross way) and supporting them with alpins with each side. Cover the head with the leaves placing them side by side and supporting them with alpins with each side. Secure the leaves covering the head with wrapping the thread and secured it with tape at the end and remove the alpins. Cover the thread with a strip of gold lace around the neck portion and fix it with an alpin.
EYES: Now take a double sided tape and cut it into two small circles to make eyes. Attach the circles on both side and stick red kundans or chips to make an eye ball. Now grab and a black marker and highlight the eyes. Alternately you can use googly eyes.
BEAK: Now take a piece of red cloth and also a piece of paper and fold it into a small triangular shape and insert it into the cloth to make a beak. After folding cut the excess and fold it backwards. Fix the beak with the help of two alpins, these will look like nostrils. Now let’s touch up, wherever if the threads show take small leaves and cover the threads and fix them with alpins.
LEGS: For the legs take a small steam with leaves on both sides and trim of leaves, these will look like 3 toes. Make two legs of same size. Pierce an alpins on each leg and fix it on to the parrot. For attaching the legs raise one of the leaves and fix it under, they will appear as if they are attached from inside.
Finally take the beads lace and attach it to the center back of parrot for it the dangle with an alpin.
Make them, decorate them and enjoy these green parrot danglers this festive season.
