49.5% of the reason I did summer soldier was as a joke, 49.5% is to have a less hot costume, the other 1% was so I could say I made two costumes - glad you liked it :D

@@vygalnix7769 the only reason i will randomly gargle things like this is because (I know, childish) but I used to do it when I was a kid randomly in a conversation lull to annoy my mom, and sometimes I'll randomly do it when there's a pause. The coffee wasn't even hot, it's just disgusting to gargle.

Love that you craft as much as possible from trash. Do you ever attempt to make a pattern of what your are working on just so that, if you want to "remake" or apply to another cosplay, you have somewhat of a template to work from later? I was reluctant to do this (working a lot from sewing patterns) but then I realized that I should create a pattern from something I make "from scratch" "just in case" I need to re-make it in the future (and then don't have to frustrate myself and waste additional time angered by my laziness).

I have made a lot of patterns/templates that I reuse as baselines - the reason I was semi-confident that the vest would work out ok (even though it was trial and error) is that I've made enough vests/shirts where I have different patterns - the pleather stretched out bigger than my largest vest pattern, so I had a basline. The only "issue" I was slightly conscered about was the bunching since pleather is pretty thick, but it worked out!

Industrious build. Cutting foam - ever use those heated wire things to cut foam moire accurately? All that plastic against your skin - ever get a rash or reaction?

Thankfully no reactions - for EVA foam, it burns more than melts if you use that method - a sharp blade is really the only way to deal with EVA foam

This is how much of a newbie I would be in cosplay-world...I would spray-paint or body makeup my arm in silver and then use more make up to create the "lines" of the arm's segments (provided I had arms with impressive or decent biceps).

Ok, then. Question: if Doom isn’t your favorite villain, then who is? Mine is probably Magneto, as I am a HUGE X-Men nerd and he is more of a “gray” villain, who can also serve as a hero. That’s just for comics; I won’t bore you with anime villains. . .

I tend not to like true villains because of their skewed morality, though I appreciate (most) villains turned hero and antiheroes. My main issue with Doom is how he's too blinded by thinking the only path is his path - I mean, I get it, he was dealt a bad hand and rose up, but the whole "No one can do it right except me" is too hopeless of a philosphy and he lets a code or morality overwrite the reality of the situation. Venom + Domino are two of my favorite "villains".

@@cosplays_from_trash Nice! Venom was one of the first major villains I read about when I started reading comics as a kid, so he is major! Domino is cool too (was she a villain though? And this coming from an X-nerd; I just thought she started on X-Force). Eh, I’ll say that I love a good villainous villain (sometimes more than the heroes). They usually have better backstories or at least more fleshed out that make them interesting. I’ve always loved Mr. Sinister more for his panache (sp?) and flair even though he is a horrible person. I also love Starscream, because A) his name is cool as hell and B) he is always trying to find a way to screw Megatron over. I like Doom and can’t wait for RDJ to play him, but he is always made SO OP that he becomes somewhat boring sometimes for me. . .

Kyle, I am so the same! Except I can have someone tell me their name and literally 10 SECONDS later I have to ask their name again. And forget it if I see them 15 min later. I get so embarrassed. 😢

The trick of using their names 3 times in 3 unique ways when you meet them works. Once I'm reminded who someoen is, I can normally remember all our interactions but just from them saying hi it's like... "who is this." Probably the most egreious case in terms of media - in the neflix show, Fall of the House of Usher, a character changes costumes/hair a lot, but apparently it's "cleraly" her. I had to ask my friend literally every scene "who is that" even 10 episodes in lolol

@@cosplays_from_trash oh I have tried the name trick and it works about 50/50 for me. I am hopeless sometimes, but I keep trying. I hear ya though. Have you watched Game of Thrones or House of Dragons (I mean chances are probable but you never know). I had to watch the first season of GoT several times to try to remember everyone. That show is one that is hard on anyone to remember. Also, you remind me that I need to watch Fall of the House of Usher.
