How can you determine whether it is a self locking mechanism, via solidworks?

This is not how a power screw is manufactured. Try to draw it as if you are machining it on a lathe. Only then, you will be able to claim that you drew a "real" Power Screw. Good Luck : )

You would not use a square thread if you plan to machine it on a lathe anyways, but it is a good illustration for learning people.
