MashaAllah , Actually it's quite easy , my grandfather had taught me how to make it and The master calligrapher from Lahore , , Khurshid Gohar e Qalam very professionally and accurately describes the technique here , so take a bamboo stick and cut it smoothly and gradually with a cutter , next slightly cut the other side or the top of Qalam as well but just lightly , now comes the most important part , the edge that will slide on the paper softly and firmly and at the same time will provide excellent flexible curves , This is also known as Qad of the qalam , Always cut it at an angle right side slightly higher than the left side and then in the centre cut a little slit so that it retains the ink properly

It is a bamboo qalam (pen), you have to sharpen it barabar-barabar (equally) on both sides, so its flat. We have to sharpen it equally from the sides also. Later we have to take a piece of wood, turn the qalam upside down and cut it evenly.
