As for historical groups, the wives of Henry VIII would be lovely, very sad, but very special and unique to Western history. For American history, Harriet Tubman comes to mind, she was a plain looking woman but her courage and bravery shine from her heart. She would be an especially good subject as the new president is reopening the project to have her face on the US$20 bill.
