You going to destroy a family heirloom to make a shitty ring?
@eccentricjoe8786
@eccentricjoe8786 Жыл бұрын
@@DeeDee-bm9hr Damn that’s a pretty negative way to look at it lol, it’s not like it has much of a use utility wise as a wheel, to be fair it loses some of it’s inherent meaning and history but still it’s better than getting rid of it if you don’t have the space or it just sitting in your garage or storage or something. As a ring it might be more included in a person’s or family’s life and gain more sentimental value/provoke more day-to-day thought than just sitting around. An exception would maybe be if it was a literal heirloom that’s hung up in a home maybe.

@@eccentricjoe8786 you have a brain...unlike most. Yea the ring would be a way more useful thing to pass on that a wheel. Knowing it's from the old family farm, and great gram and gram and mom wore this thing and it's 200+ years old is way cooler than a wheel

I hope this isn't rude of me to ask but what was the point of the twist? Cuz if you're doing something with My patterned Damascus the twist would have added a nice cool effect to the ring but with just but without any other metals or an asset edge that wouldn't come out.
@ChristCenteredIronworks
@ChristCenteredIronworks Жыл бұрын
The twist isn't aesthetic.. it's because wrought iron has a wood grain structure and will split open when upsetting on the end grain like in this video. The twist is to align the grain structure so that it doesn't split when upset
