Dr. Matteo Saveriano attended the Università degli Studi di Napoli "Federico II" and the Technical University of Munich. He was a post-doctoral researcher at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and is now a tenure-track assistant professor at the Department of Computer Science and the Digital Science Center of the University of Innsbruck. Dr. Saveriano‘s research is at the intersection between learning and control, and attempts to integrate cognitive robots into smart factories and social environments through the embodiment of AI solutions, inspired by human behavior. He adopts machine learning approaches to transform human demonstrations into repeatable and generalizable robotic tasks.
The seven-part lecture series "Showcasing Young Austrian Scholars and Scientists" features a line-up of young Austria-based scholars and scientists who weigh in on a variety of subjects including political science and law, artificial intelligence, literature, philosophy and sustainable mountain development.
