One change Fatmanfalling suggested was having Ironwood be in charge for security for the Vytal Festival _before_ the end of the volume, so him showing up with a massive military fleet has a justification. This could cause tension between Oz and Ironwood and better foreshadow Ironwood's eventual fall.

I think that was the justification AFTER Ironwood brought his armada. Both Ozpin and Glynda seemed surprised, even upset, about the heavy military presence. It also went to show Ironwood's paranoia over Qrow's reports and his need to keep the Ozlluminate's secrets close to the chest. Finally, it hinted at his distrust of Ozpin and his opposition to how the Headmaster was handling everything.

Maybe he brought the entire armada with him, but he states that it was because of this year's contendors being high priorities for protection (Penny is an experimental robot, Weiss is the heiress of the Schnee Dust Company, Ruby is the last known person on the planet to possess silver eyes and Pyrrha is a massive celebrity). Have him state it's because of these extenuating circumstances he's making a show of force to dissuade anyone who would think of attacking the tournament. He rationalises it as the logical answer, but really he's viewing the situation in terms of absolutes. Maybe have his semblance be the ability that he can just shut off emotions to view things in their most logical way, but he receives frequent criticism for using inhumane methods whenever he uses his semblance as a leader.

Adding the characters earlier is very cool and makes sense thought to be fair to actual RWBY they probably hadn't come up with most of these characters at the time of Volume 2. Team PATC is interesting. I imagine they were chosen around the idea of having very controlling semblences, to keep Penny on strings. Marrow can stop time and Fiona has the pocket dimension. My headcannon was Ciel having semblence around precise timekeeping & pinpoint precision. She can count seconds perfectly and has that weird Josuk8 quirk of knowing how far something away is in cm. Perhaps Marrow and Ciel can play a hand in teaching Weiss time dilation? Some personal physics & philopshy around time being relative and being able to break it open in order to best use time dilation.

I actually really do like the idea of Penny's team consisting of Ciel, Marrow and Fiona. Ciel since her design is cute and overall character is interesting to dive into, and Marrow and Fiona being fun characters in their own right. I also like the idea of Marrow and Fiona for instance becoming a part of the Ace Ops'/Happy Huntresses later on in V7. Maybe it could show how the Fall of Beacon split the team apart, fun side stories here or there, all that jazz

I legit like the Neptune twist. I'm not a fan of love triangles but teaching Jaune and viewers that no means no, through Neptune is an important lesson. I also dig the CFVY inspiration changes. They fit so well with the designs, especially Yatsuhashi's. Cool idea Pretty Weird Duck. Love the idea of an all Faunus academy. What I'll rewrite in V2 would not be so little. An idea I had was that Sun & Neptune weren't students but unlincensed Huntsmen. They're hired by criminal organisations for profit and that way we learn more about the crime families, the Huntsman who 'stray from their righteous paths', and foreshadowing RNJR's unofficial status during V4-V6. They hang around Vale working odd jobs after helping Team RWBY, helping out during the Vytal Festival next volume. Just one of the changes I would do.

Damn, now I can't decide whether I like Team PATC (Patch) or Team PCVS (Pisces) more! Both have very interesting team dynamics, but one has the bonus of greater team drama in later Volumes. One minor gripe I have, and I mean minor, is that Vacuo has the Faunus only school. Shade seems too limited in its student base to keep out any and all humans. If there was a school like that, my pick would be in Mistral. Mistral has always been on the eccentric/ creative side, so why not lean into that with their academy? Their proximity to Menagerie is ideal to reel in new students and It also keeps Lionheart as the Headmaster like the original AU. Still a wonderful video. I can't wait to see how your Patchwork AU will turn out! Have a nice day. P.s. Yeah, I know Team PSVC (Pacific) is a bit more popular, but I just like the exotic sound of Pisces. P.p.s. I would have an episode where team RWBY plays their board game in the library. A combination of Risk & Yugioh, where each girl controls one of the four kingdoms. Ruby plays Mistral, Weiss plays Atlas, Blake plays Vacuo and Yang plays Vale. Each playing resources thematic the kingdom but with tactics representing each girl's personality. This would be good for establishing the fighting style and culture of the four kingdoms with all the exchange students coming to town. There's just a lot of little stuff you could do.

As someone who low key shipped Jaune and Neptune precisely because of the scene of them talking alone on the balcony, I absolutely adore the idea of Neptune crushing on Jaune there (Plus it’s rare to see actually complete love triangles rather than love bent lines). Like, Jaune not reciprocating at that point in time makes absolute sense, so I don’t mind the idea of it just making them better friends, oralternatively maybe once Jaune has fully worked through his grief over Pyrrha’s loss, maybe Jaune and Neptune end up getting together in a subplot once they all make it to Vacuo,though I’m not sure how that could be handled without it seeming like Neptune is holding onto his feelings for far too long.

Ok but now that youve mentioned the idea of penny, marrow, fiona and ciel all doing the robot dance at the prom makes me think of a scenario in which after the fall of beacon and penny dying fiona joins the happy huntresses and marrow joins the ace ops and then in volume 7 when they go to that one party for the vote counting, fiona and marrow like take a break and do the robot dance with penny (and ciel(id imagine she wouldnt be a happy huntress or an ace op not bc she isnt good, but bc shed rather be around penny)) its all great and good, the gangs back together and marrow and fiona get to talk to each other again and then the when attack happens and fiona gets hurt like proper volume 7, and angst of the whole team ahshdbjsjssb Youve introduced team PATC into my life and now they give me brain worms (in a good way)😔😔

If only Rooster Teeth planned out these characters earlier themselves; we wouldn't be backfilling with them. But I especially love how Penny's minders are now her whole team. It makes more sense with how Ironwood wants to sign Penny up for the tournament. Making Yatsuhashi a turtle is a great idea; he's got the colourisation and the armour for it.

I liked your last one and i like this one too. Introducing all these characters early on and have them doing stuff and allowing us to get to know them is a good move, especially because all the characters you introduced us too were all blank slates, yet have such a following behind them. Team PATC is a real good idea, seriously Penny having an actual team is such a good idea. And all of them dancing and doing the robot would be so cute and fun. Having Ozpin, Ironwood, and Lionhart together is genius. Ozpin and the others were meant to be a whole crew based on the Wizard of OZ, yet Lionhart wasn't all that involved, it only makes sense they all work together by having regular meetings or something. Team CFVY being all faunus is a nice and fun idea, and an all faunus school................why didn't we have that yet? I can't wait to see your take on Volume 3

Going into this you really don't need to do a whole lot in order to fix volume 2. Honestly, my solution wither be A. Give it more episodes or B. make the episodes longer so that all the characters would interact with one another. This would make the eventual shitstorm of v3 worth it because these characters would actually have well earned bonds that were broken too soon. Liking having all of team JNPR interact, actually fleshing out blake and yangs friendship, make the pyrrha romance less forced, etc. Happy thanksgiving btw

An add-on I'd make to Penny preventing Ruby's isekai would be a single line of encouragement. "Just because you're metal doesn't mean you're not real" It reinforces that Ruby sees Penny as a real person, not just a robot, and it reinforces the tragedy of Penny's death in volume 3, which could have an addition as follows: Ruby rushed from the stands to the Arena, devil may care about the consequences, semblance deactivating as she got to Penny's side. Through the glitches and twitches of Penny's body and voice, she can choke out a single sentence. "I don't want to die..." The rest if teams RWBY and JNPR appear in the arena, most in the stands frozen in shock, but as the teams try to help, Jaune noticed a faint smirk from one of the vacuo students, and pointed it out to the others. After all is said and done, Yang has to practically pry Ruby off of Penny, the black-and-crimson-haired girl refusing to leave her friend's side.

It's interesting how in normal RWBY the massive amount of characters introduced is generally considered a weakness, but here you're introducing a lot of characters and it is a clear strength. It's largely, of course, because these characters _do_ something; you even gave Neptune a thing he can do to be anything other than useless. Like, I actually personally like the Lieutenant in a onenote midboss kind of way, but I will kick that bastard out of a window for a similar onenote midboss like Yuma that can actually do other stuff on the side.

Oh, *finally,* I found someone doing a rewrite of Volume 2 where they realize that Jaune constantly asking Weiss out is actually kind of shitty and maybe that should be called out. I mean, in my personal headcanon, Weiss eventually got sick of it and called him out in a sparing session, where she held him down with a gravity glyph and literally spanked him with the flat of her sword to the laughter of the crowd. But hey, your idea works too ;)

yeah, kinda. Weiss already said she rejects him because she wrongly thinks he's after the family money. This ties into what we learn later in V5, that her father pursued her mother for the Schnee name and company. So probably Weiss grew up hearing her mom tell sweet stories about her dad's constant attempts, which then shattered when they all learned the truth.

Since we're on the topic of redos, I wanna talk about my own RWBY au :D, cuz why not: The main change is that Weiss and Whitley are twins, I enjoy sibling parallels and especially since the two are the same age now it might compel them(or at least Weiss) to be more competitive over becoming heir. As for fairytales I did decide to make Whitley Kai from the Snow Queen, this ties into my next point, Grandma Schnee. I thought to myself, if Weiss has her grandfather, Whitley could have his grandmother and so now we gave Santa Claus and the Snow Queen as a couple. This lead to me doing a redesign for Whitley, which you may have seen before I don’t know, one was designed a few years ago and one was made this year.

13:40. This might just be because I keep re-watching the train scene from Spiderman 2, but I would've loved if the 'No Brakes' segment rounded out with the girls finding a way to stop the train from crashing, which admittedly traps them with the Grimm, but then JNPR, CFVY, SSSN and Ironwood's forces save them. Still working out how the teams would know RWBY was down in those tunnels, but I feel it would've given the girls an actual win and a reason to deserve the praise they get at the end of the volume, since - as mentioned in previous videos - they technically failed since the train still crashed and Grimm still got into the city. Having them actually stop the train would make them feel more like the heroes they're supposed to be.

This is silly but I'd turn Zwei into a robot dog (ZW31) not only to make his delivery through the mail a bit less ridiculous (even though it's fun) but also because his name is Deutsche, like Weiss. So his model could be from the Schnee company to demonstrate that they distribute all kinds of products that run on dust energy.

Like the idea of introducing more of the side characters and setting them up for bigger impact when they get in story proper but velvet and Yatsuhashi I don't like your change. But that is probably cos I have listened to After the fall and Before the dawn, we're they do end up enrolling in shade academy. I know it's supplemental material, but I have listened to them so I'm a little bit baised by it. Been thinking again ( I know twice in one year!? Things getting really scary XD) but Leo being there could add so much! Like him Not bringing an army, showing that it really is iron wood going overboard and flexing. Leo could be against it visually but dose state he feels more secure with the army there, indicating his cowardly nature. Plus him being either being near the evacuation point or completely absent from the battle in volume 3 could show that too. Plus being there at the fall of Becon makes you wonder if that was his turning point or if he was already a traitor and turned to Salem. Cos being there to see that in person is more credible a reason to turn than hearing about it. Personly in this scenario I would go for he was totally loyal to Oz but after seeing fall of bacon with the Atlas military involved, shook him.enough to think its hopeless and best thing to do is make a deal now to save himself, while he can. Just random thoughts from 1 am at night XD

In volume 5 we see Qrow looking at a board with named on it, so I'm assuming it's kind of like a "fore hire" type of deal. Where people can post missions publicly somewhere and a Huntsmen can get in contact with that person if they want to help carry it out? Perhaps it's ran by the government because it's explained Lionheart sent all the local Haven Huntsmen off on missions that would end up getting them killed?

This is too weird and I don't understand the sense for this. I mean, for example the X-men school (I call it that so it can be easily identified by everyone) is an exclusive school for mutants because of the danger that comes with them not being able to control their abilities, but in the case of the Faunus, outside of their animal trait we don't see them having any potentially dangerous qualities, so an exclusive school just makes the Faunus look much more discriminatory than humans, and as victimizers. Since they would be directly rejecting the possibility of their students interacting with humans and forming relationships that would help them to cope with them in the future, perpetuating the idea that humans are evil, which would automatically erase any empathy for the struggle of the faunus. It is because of this kind of thing that titles like making something BETTER are purely egocentrism

Honeslty for the classroom training fights, I think Pyrrah’s should remain the same, just in a different setting. But, hers could’ve been a more redemption fight for Cardin and his later in the volume, where he thanks her for helping them train. As for everyone else, others would fight in the class, and then Glynda also says to pair up with others not on your team so they can get to know each other better, forcing Cinder and her team to mingle as they plot. Cause I seriously wanna see how she kept her powers a secret the entire time, AND got Neo into the school for the festival.

Neptune has always seemed so freaking bland to me, and I’ve always hated both him and Jaune for Weiss, given they don’t really compliment one another. In my rewrite I’m working on: I have Weiss be a useless lesbian, but she desperately doesn’t want to be. She’s rooming with a bunch of cute girls who she doesn’t think would work out (Ruby is young and she doesn’t even know if she’ll be the same person in a few years, Blake and her have had it really rough, and Yang is just… grating to her), and she’s got like a million other things that’ll make her life tough, being seen different because of that too is just another hassle she doesn’t want. That is until she meets Neptune: the first boy she’s ever had a crush on. *Weiss* will be fawning over him (completely out of character) and Neptune will be kind of receptive, because she’s relieved she can finally be “normal.” However, whenever she isn’t directly around him: she seems like normal and when he’s brought up she’s very aloof. The gang think she might be being blackmailed and look into it. Neptune’s semblance instead of being water control (moving away from semblances that can just be dust) is a connection to animals (referencing Aquaman). Not mind control, more pheromones and impressions. He says it doesn’t work on humans, unless they happen to be incredibly socially deprived or something. The team realizes he’s been unintentionally influencing Weiss to be enamored with him, and Neptune is horrified (because he’s not a scumbag), turning it off and going to talk to her about it. This would lead to her being outed to her team and realizing she’s okay to be who she is, it would have her team make more of an effort to actually get to know her and be her friend, and Neptune would get a small arc where he would get some characterization beyond his liking girls. But I’m crazy and don’t have a microphone, so no one will ever see that story beyond Ao3 where nobody reads my stuff. 🤪

Nice bandaiding, but having heard it, I'm kinda more interested in how you'd cleansweep fix the series? Personally, I'd make each season 8 hours, so we actually have TIME to explore things, find someone who can actually replace Monty as fight coreographer because everything post 2.5 was ass, have Dust be a much bigger thing, largely be acquired from Grimm bone, be acknowledged as humanities stolen magic and rather than ditching the maidens outright have them be rare figures who can dust-cast without needing dust as resources and be the primary resource Salem and Ozpin fight over. Setting details aside, I'd extend the first three seasons several more and have it take on a more little witch academia/my hero academia vibe. Your character interactions are more solid than my ideas, so I'll not talk about that.
