Hi Chase, a frustrating journey at times but enjoyable too. Dont give up. We learn by mistakes which is what makes us good. The more mistakes we make, the better we become. All the best.

Thank you for creating this series!! As a kid I would watch the sign painter that my dad would have letter our trucks (we have a trucking company) as soon as I saw the Block letters they are Identical to how his were, then you showed the book and I remember he kept an old tatty one in his truck with different fonts. I would watch in fascination as he would lay out the pounce pattern and then make the sign come to life. I tried a few times to get him to let me apprentice under him, but he always told me that he didn't take on apprentices because they always ended up going after his customers. He worked until he was in his 90's. Where I am actual Sign painters are rare to come by, pin stripers are not as hard to find but sign painters are rare. I remembered what I could of how Rey made the pounce patterns and was able to duplicate the sign on our trucks, and have been trying to recall how he would make his brush strokes. I can See some of them from some of the old faded signs. This series of videos have filled in some of what I remember, thank you again for making this series!

Thank you James. It's nice to know someone is watching us out there! I'm past my sell-by-date now but I still do bits and pieces but it is nice to share some of the old ways with the new people to try and educate how to do it right. Regards
