It's a solid state amp; it doesn't care much about the ohms as a tube amp does. As long as the total load does not drop below 4 ohm, you're good. Connecting two 4-ohm speakers would result in a 2-ohm load (not zero), which is too low. Connect the amp to the 16 ohm speaker inputs when using both cabs. When using just one cab, you can use the 4 ohm input.

Yup, you are absolutely correct. Later on that day and a couple of videos on ohms, they said exactly what you said. Thanks man 👍

Clean video, and the stacks look nice. What are you using to record with?

The stack is looking awesome! I like how the slant cab is flush to the straight cab. I’m glad the monster truck wheels are gone. Ohms always confuse me too!

Ah yes. I see the problem, you're 2 speaker cabinets short. You should buy 2 cabinets more and put them next to this one... maybe bridge the head across two stacks for appearances. Jk offcourse,... that would be madness... would it? it would work and look awesome tho ....with one Valvestate head driving 2 full stacks side by side and you'd be dead on the money for the impedance (4x 412 at 16 ohm a piece 2x2 in series results in 4 ohm (16+16=8 + 16+16= 4). If you'd really want four ohm out of those two cabs you'd either have to rewire them internally or cascade each speaker with a big 16 ohm resistor (Amp-resistor-speaker) bringing the impedance of the cabinet down but you'd have to go big/high power handling on the resistor and make sure it doesn't touch anything because that thing is going to get hot. But those hacks a waste of those nice 1960A's and in the end it's just a transistor amp so output ohms aren't as important as with tube amps and even with those it only important that you never go below the specified limits of the OT. Going higher makes the amp run a little cooler and put out a little less volume (in extreme cases you'll lose some bass) but they're 100 watts.... it wil still have plenty of power. Nice stack tho, I have a similar stack but I used cheaper cabinets (MA series) and have a MK1 8100 Valvestate.

yes 2 full stack would be a overkill but look badass lol And I see, great info. And u have a nice setup I see 🤘

@@ant_yep Hehehe yeah it would sure look cool. You're welcome on the info man. Yeah I'm pretty happy with the 8100 in my arsenal of amplifiers. It pairs surprisingly well with my 2x12 Fender power chorus combo in a band setting with 2 guitars.. The Fender is more bottom and midrange heavy where the Marshall 8100 has a lot of high and little bass or mids so they compliment each other instead of competing for the same frequency range. My bass amp is a Marshall MB450H with a 4x10 but I'm still looking to stack that with an extra 15. You have a lot of other stuff too I see, those peavy's are nice man! What else you got? I'm curious.

@@FraJa1980 I actually had a couple of 8100 but none are working right. I been wanting to try an fix them but I haven't gotten around to it. I have three vs100, a valvestate avt 150, old peavey 2x15 cab and a 1x15 fender Bassman cab

@@ant_yep Ah nice 👍🏻 what’s wrong with those 8100’s? I recently did the B+ transformer on mine. That board can be a bitch to get out but other than that they’re pretty easy to work on. Nice gear man, I’ll be subbing and watching more of you videos 👍🏻
@ant_yep

@@FraJa1980 thanks man. I subbed to you too. And I have some videos on it. I really don't know. I was just hoping is was just a loose solder and learning as I go. But looks like some compassitors. One was getting really hot. It just sounds dead and dull. And I don't know if the transformers are ok
