Just tried this! I hope it comes out good since i don't have a pressure pot i get bubbles easily.. But was curious to try this!!! Made it a single color (light pink with sparkles) with a black streak, and placed beforehand silver holographic sparkles on the mold sides with some small mylar pieces. Can't wait for the result, i hope its half as nice as yours in this video! Thanks for creating these in depth videos!

Update for no one but myself- it actually worked and the sparkles stayed in place! I’m so excited for learning this tip. My only problem was my black streak came out messy and blended in a bit so it looked foggy, probably dipped my toothpick in weird. Will try again later! Still learning from each dice I make 🥰

I recently found you on instagram and was starstruck by your work because its truly above and beyond what ive seen from others. Your dice are so unique that how you do it has been bugging me for awhile. Today I let my ADHD brain go down the rabbit hole and just started searching for general information about it. I stumbled onto your video about dice blanks and felt completely shook when I realized it came from the same creator who started my gnawing curiosity to begin with. Then I went to your channel and was truly blown away by how much of your skill and creativity you are putting out there for others to learn from. Now, I can completely appreciate why many creators dont put themselves/ techniques out there. However, it just made me even more impressed with who you are as a person for doing this. Unfortunately for me I'm stuck in a small apartment with an asthmatic cat so any hopes of making my own dice are years away but I am still grateful for you nonetheless 🥰

If you dip the mylar into resin before you add it to the mold it'll help prevent it from trapping air in the dice (if you run into that).
@dreamy_dice10 ай бұрын
Ohhh totally! I’ve always preferred to use them dry since I don’t like the mess of the pre-dip (and with a design like this it can cause the glitter to shift more), but it’s really great advice, I should remember to mention it!

@@dreamy_dice do you ever have issues with bubbles using your method? Just curious.
@dreamy_dice10 ай бұрын
@@tera.makes.pretties not usually, but every once in a while I do find a little bubble caught in the mylar. These are usually so small I don’t mind them, but it definitely happens and is a risk of not pre-soaking the mylar

Are pixxis alcohol inks lightfast in any way or do they bleach in uv light?

Thank you for the great step by step video. Your purple does not turn brown ?
@dreamy_dice10 ай бұрын
You’re welcome!! I’ve had lots of issues with purples browning in the past, I’ve never experienced it with Pixiss’ Lilac. I’ve gotten a tiiiiny brown hue before when heavily saturating Pixiss Grape, but overall I find both their purples to be very resistant to browning (and maybe that’s why they look blue instead of purple during the casting step?)

I just love your videos! I purchased my first pressure pot and I'm not sure if I need to leave it on for 24 hours or if it's too risky (I'm a little scared), could you tell me how you do it?
@dreamy_dice10 ай бұрын
Thank you! I do have plans for a pressure pot video sometime soon, but I wouldn’t be too worried about how long you leave it pressurized. It’s definitely good to be cautious about pressure pots (they scare me too!), in which case I would be a little conservative with how much you’re pressurizing the pot rather than how long you leave it. Start between 20-30 PSI to get comfortable, and you shouldn’t ever need to go more than 40 for dice (I do just over 40 for my molds). Id definitely keep your dice under pressure for the majority of the cure time, but you can test out de-pressurizing around 18-20 hours in if it makes you more comfortable (or test out a fast curing resin!). Hope this helps!!

@@dreamy_dice Thank you so much! I live in Brazil and here people don't talk about it, so I'm worried about using it correctly. I'll be waiting for another one of your wonderful videos!

Hi. Dreamy Dice dad here. I actually built both of Tess' pressure pots for her and did lots of research before making them. It is very probable that the pressure pot you bought is actually rated for far more pressure than your compressor can put out. Most pressure containers actually have a failure pressure at least twice the listed max pressure. If you have any concerns about over-pressuring your pot you can probably take it to a compressor repair shop and have them install a safety release valve that is inside the range that makes you comfortable. The pots Tess is using were originally made for paint and in converting them I installed 90 psi relief valves so that if her compressor air adjustment valve ever failed the pot would release well before critical pressure is achieved. Pots are not really dangerous unless they are home-made by someone who does not know how to build one and does not include a safety release valve. Good luck with your dice making.
