You come up with some wonderful ideas Anna. Did that plastic bottle ever lose the budget in the bottom and sit flat? The thing I really like about how you present things here is how often you do things for the first time and take us along with you. It really encourages me, being someone who has only this year gotten into fermenting drinks and food. I love that this ferment uses what I would normally toss into the compost and gives another drink option in one of my favorite flavor.

Yes it did 😀 I like sharing the first time I make things because it’s hard to remember to share all the little things you learn when making it. I’m happy you like that 💜

Hi, thanks for this video, I just made tepache and it came out good, I also made the pineapple vinegar and it also was very good. I would like to know if you know if what's left of the pineapple peels can be used again? Thanks so much, have a blessed day

Nice! I haven’t tried the vinegar yet but I plan to. I haven’t found any uses for it other than chicken food, I think it’s just pretty zapped at that point

I love this and started making this the other day. It’s probably been fermenting for 4 to 5 days. How long did you actually leave it in the fridge to ferment?
@fallenangelwi254 жыл бұрын
Lol my better half plays like that too 🤪 lol. It's one of those things that sometimes drives me nuts but I would so miss it if he didn't do it 😂 lol.

I know nothing about fermenting so this might be a dumb question but do these turn alchohloic with it being fruit and sugar?
@FermentedHomestead4 жыл бұрын
Not a dumb question at all! Yes, it will develop some alcohol. The longer it ferments the higher the % until it starts to convert to vinegar. Unless you add yeast it shouldn’t be more than about 3%.
@elbowstancenow15192 ай бұрын
About 1%, alcohol

Hello I am so glad I found this channel I love to ferment as a matter of fact i just started a pineapple ferment 2 days ago I only used raw sugar at about a half a cup to a gallon jar and i let mine sit for 3 days i usally dont due a second ferment as it always so bubbly anyway seems like pineapple is so much easier and quicker to get where i like it And i wanted to ask you if you had ever made pineapple cider vinegar if not you should try it I love it more than apple and it forms its own scoby I made the first batch by accident i meant to make the drink and forgot about it but it makes a beautiful vinegrette for salads . Well i wanted to say hello and welcome you to KZbin I love when new to me people post fermenting video s as i am always looking for new recipes I really dont can much but like the ease of fermenting and the health benefits I d like to learn how to make a pineapple pepper jelly

I am way older than my picture lol and ate up with arthritis I am looking for new ways to add tumeric to my diet do you have any idea s
@FermentedHomestead4 жыл бұрын
I haven’t tried pineapple vinegar but now I really want to try it! Thank you fir the suggestion 😊 I love the bubbly so it’s with the extra for me but everyone is different for sure. With turmeric I have a turmeric tea video and a golden paste/milk video. I also just like to cook heavily with it, I just make sure to cook it with pepper and it will amplify the goodness :) I hope that helps

What can I use instead of the drinking jars you filtered them into? I don't have them.
@fallenangelwi254 жыл бұрын
We also don't drink soda enough to have any bottles around lol.
@FermentedHomestead4 жыл бұрын
You can use mason jars, it just won’t get quite as fizzy and you have to be sure to Monitor the lid bubble and put it in the fridge when it’s super hard.
@fallenangelwi254 жыл бұрын
@@FermentedHomestead ok I have the air lock S shaped lids you put water in to let gas out but no air in. Would those be best to use the whole time? Should I put regular jar lid on when it goes into the fridge?
@FermentedHomestead4 жыл бұрын
You’ll want to use those when the fruit is in the jar. Once you’re ready to second ferment it (without the fruit) put a regular lid on it. If you keep the airlock on it won’t get fuzzy but it will still ferment. Yes regular lid in the fridge 💜

So.....I think I just accidentally made a version of tepache! Lol. I had a pineapple kombucha (with whole pieces of pineapple in the brew this whole time), and when my Brew was fermented enough I had the idea to put a lid on top of it to create an anaerobic environment in hopes that it would carbonate but because my vessel was plastic it was not able to retain enough pressure however it definitely up the alcohol because when I tasted it today I was like holy crap this tastes like flat beer and I estimated it at 3% ABV. I currently have a kombucha wine that's going with the other part of the pineapple as well as green apple and strawberries and I'm using a champagne yeast and so far it smells amazing and it tastes like a wine cooler but it's still bubbling strong!!! have you ever heard of a kombucha wine that's over 15% on the market because I have not and I think I just made the first one
@FermentedHomestead4 жыл бұрын
I have never heard of that! I think you’ve invented something that sounds divine! Keep me posted on how it turns out 😀
