Great video man! Just subscribed and I am definitely interested in your content and level of education you have as a tuner. I have been working my hardest to still have the potential to be a young person who is and wants to continue further dedication and development within tuning like yourself. I absolutely appreciate your team and content as it brings sense of humour and definitely a lot of passion and honesty within your content. I as many others really look forward into seeing more in depth tuning processes and capabilities for Ferraris as I’m sure you would also enjoy seeing more tuners who want to be remarkable like yourself at what they love to do! Amazing stuff, I understood everything you talked about, I dabbled with WinOLS software tuning and it’s not for everyone, you definitely need to have that sort of brain to deal with that, I’ll stick to building cars and loading tunes and leave creating tuned files to guys like you!

There are two ECU's in the SF90, they sit over the rear wheels.

How you guys calculate whp to hp?

Usually we look at whp compared to advertised crank to find out what the drivetrain loss is. Then use that percentage to calculate a new crank HP number. The problem is factory turbo cars choose turbos that are tiny to limit lag, so they lose steam high rpm. The majority of gains are made low and midrange so measuring acceleration as a function of average HP and average torque is a better litmus test of a tune's performance rather than Dyno numbers. This is just one metric and it's the most widely accepted and understood method. If we were using the same marketing numbers the industry players use, we'd claim it's a 1200hp car. I'd rather not play that game and just show the power gain at the wheel was 120hp 145tq.

I have a bachelor's from cal poly and a master's from Pepperdine, I've taken EFI classes as well, but none of it helped me with tuning European cars. You learn best by doing. I learned tuning principles like dont go lean and be careful with timing, and practiced on my own car. When I was 21 I had an e39 M5 and tuned it with the most popular brand on the forums and they made my car slower. From that point my life was set on the trajectory of "if you want something done right you have to do it yourself." I set several records for the e39 M5 and still tune a lot of them to this day from the development I did 15 years ago. If you have a passion for something, you'll make it work.

@@hdtuning This is exactly how I feel like with my life right now haha. With the passion I have for tuning I don't think I can even look back at any other career and say yeah I want that instead. Since a kid I just loved being able to tune automotive. The biggest reason is because it is like an open coded software for newer development each time for customizations within the entirety of a vehicle. inside and out. You are the kind of people and the kind of team that allows people like myself to keep committing to what we love to do, and for the most part as a team always makes things easier and therefore becomes dream work. I wish I could give those who deserve a hug a hug, sincerely! haha keep it up Matt!
