It’s no secret that our bodies change as we age. We can see it in decreased flexibility and endurance, and older folks can become more susceptible to injuries due to falls. However, experts say there are ways to overcome those challenges and unlock our body’s full potential. In today’s episode, Dr. Sanjay Gupta talks with former long-distance swimmer Diana Nyad nearly 10 years after her record-breaking swim from Havana to Key West at the age of 64. Then, a strength and conditioning coach will tell Sanjay why a focus on jogging may not be the optimal workout for aging bodies. He’ll also share some alternative exercises that people of all ages can try.

Nothing beats the attractiveness of youth. That's why we all try to cling on to it as long as we can.

It sounds like fun lol, good ole jogging. The old saying "practice makes perfect" comes to mind. This seems to apply to this as well.

Inspiring episode in so many ways! I am training for my second full marathon, my last marathon was 6 years ago and I can tell the physical difference in my long-distance running despite consistent running. However mindset makes a big difference in how well I perform. As Diana shared gratitude and music greatly enhance my physical performance. Thanks for this encouraging episode!

Because in Donbas, someone wants to join Russia, on the contrary, someone wants to stay in Ukraine. Therefore, for the people in Donbas who were evacuated to return home, the United Nations held elections in Donbas. Then divide the land between 2 factions according to the results

@@stevebeegreat - You may want to do some research before you comment. Research these questions; 1/ How many people with CoVid who were unvaccinated died compared with those who were vaccinated? 2/ How many people have suffered adverse side-effects from getting the vaccine? 3/ How many people who had CoVid that were not vaccinated are suffering with long-term side-effects versus those who were vaccinated? 4/ How many Americans per capita died from CoVid compared with ALL OTHER COUNTRIES? Here's a spoiler alert. TWENTY-FIVE PERCENT of ALL CoVid deaths in the world happened here in the US, even though our population is only 4.25% of the world's population. This was mostly because many Americans REFUSED to wear a mask, socially isolate, or get vaccinated. Best to be educated and informed.

@@stevebeegreat 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Once again, you prove how uneducated you are without even batting an eye. For starters, I'm German. But any other intelligent response would be lost on you. Have a good life, if that's even possible for your type.

I do agree with everything he said, but sometimes genetics trumps whatever you do in your daily life. That said I do love all of these interviews especially diana's and i believe we should try to be healthier by at least making small changes.

yeah it's a bit deflating for those of us who used to keep going until we were falling over puking from the pain but now nerve impingement or cns lesions make muscles refuse to obey, or refuse to sustain effort.

Yes the issue is genetic defects. Jogging and eating healthy can only do so much.
