Fellow guitar-makers, what's your favourite part to make of the guitar? Mine is not the neck, by the way.

Awesome job turning that slip of the router bit into a feature! It was an excellent patch and looks intentional to the design. I've never made a classical, or an acoustic guitar at all for that matter. Solid body electric guitars are my thing. But I have given it some thought. I have some cedar I bought from a local sawmill several years ago that would be suitable for a neck, and maybe even wide enough for the top. It's no special variety of cedar, but if I take the project on it would likely be for a guitar for myself and the variety of wood wouldn't matter so much to me as it would a lot of players/buyers. I really enjoy the fretwork. To me that's the area where the end player is really going to fall in love with the guitar. If it plays easy and sounds clear and plays better than any other guitar they have ever played, then they will fall in love with the guitar and keep it and play it forever. Your content is great! Keep posting and your channel will grow! My mistake with you tube is not posting enough material, and not taking the time to get the material a little better looking. Otherwise I would maybe have grown my own channel over these years I've been randomly posting.

Hey Dave, thanks for the kind words. Something good about KZbin is that I can connect with many colleagues and exchange experiences. I've never done a solid body, but hopefully will soon. I'm not sure all kinds of cedar are appropriate for soundboard. I use only western red cedar for that. Otherwise, other cedars are good for necks.

Great video, I liked your method of overcoming the inaccuracy in mis cutting the machine head grooves.

Thanks! I try to use power machines the least possible, because os such things. One small deviation and hours of work can be lost

I feel your pain. I had a similar issue with cutting the machine head holes. I mis drilled one and then realised I had used a 11 mm drill bit instead of a 10.5 mm. I decided to cut the head off and start again.

I get it. This guitar is not a commission. If it was, I would have started over again.

Thanks! The first ones I admit I was very afraid of doing by hand, but now I think I have gotten used to this method

I like bracing the top and voicing it….(mostly steel string guitars) but I am making a classical guitar and I have referred to your videos quite a bit

@@hoytbasses that's great to hear! Don't hesitate to message me if you have to discuss any specific aspect of construction!
