Trenchs should have separate upgrade paths like having roofs to lower artillery efficiency, being able to build more machines ( maybe morters if they are added in the future ) and being able to build barbed wire which will increases the chances of enemy units being shot ( or slowed )

You should make it so each nation has a certain buff and rebuff so your nation will really affect your play style (E.X: Russia has cheaper troops but MORAL stats go down faster). Also maybe a combat pack upgrade where every 15 seconds the troops have like a 5 percent chance to replace a damaged sandbag or repair the trench.

i feel like when the infantry troops throw grenades at other groups of infantry then tend to throw all of the grenades at one person and not get very many kills with that, maybe having them throw the grenades more diversely to all of the different enemies in front of them randomly would make grenades feel more useful against larger groups.

The problem I have with how strong artillery is that it forces you to play specifically offensively, it makes it so there’s very little effective strategies to use, I think it would be cool if there was a viable defensive strategy, like maybe an extremely expensive super fortified trench that makes artillery ineffective. Then maybe you’d need tanks to break the defense, I think this would bring more nuance to the gameplay

Baron, you should try to experiment with none-straight-lined trenches and maybe even different terrain levels, that would be interesting. Also, you should either reduce the amount off soldiers that have grenades (say only 60% of soldiers get grenades) or lower the chances of a soldier throwing a grenade. As seen 10:47 and 5:49, a wall of infantry with that upgrade could render tanks completely useless. Another cool Idea would be to be able to build wooden bridges. This would help both infantry and tanks. As if you set a trench to skip mode. The infantry could just run over the trenches. You could also make it so that light tanks (only light tanks) cannot cross trenches and only could if there was a wooden bridge (Think about it, how would a Ft-17 cross a 3 feet trench, it would just get stuck.) This would encourage players to build these wooden bridges. As you could hold tanks back as you muster up forces for a large assault.

Artillery upgrades could include for the inaccurate artillery should be that it fires more shells. A upgrade to all arty (including gas) is that it should have a higher damage radius. Tank upgrades could include better tracks and engines for more movement speed. Welded armor upgrade can be included to increase tank armor. Factions that could be added are the French Or Americans. Another suggestion is more units, like shock troopers/trench raiders, with them being capable of surviving a couple shots, and raiding trenches. Would like to see melee warfare in the game, shovels, maces or clubs the soldiers can pull out when they jump into an enemy trench and not kill the enemies inside it could call for close quarters battle (there should be an option to toggle melee warfare in a trench, or to just use standard weapons). The AI should also be able to use the tech tree.

perhaps the machine gun nest can be changed so that you could put a different type of emplacement there (e.g. anti-tank gun or short range artillery) instead of a machine gun, this is along with wolf's suggestion of having specialized trenches as these two ideas would work great together

Tank upgrades could be better movement (e.g. just being faster, but also getting through mud or bodies of water quicker. As a visual for that mud thing, you could add logs to the side of the tanks, like they did in WW2 for example) or different kinds of shells, so that they can vary between lets say AP, which they use against other tanks and vehicles and HE, which is primarily used against infantry

Yeah, different types of ammunition would be cool. And if you are commanding the tanks, you would have to click on the tank and it would display a chart and you could pick what type of ammo you use. For example, some rounds be more effective against infantry and others would be effective against tanks and bunkers.

3rd time asking for medics, I have a troop idea and it is medics. Medics run onto the battlefield and grab wounded soldiers. Soldiers have a chance to live or die when they get shot but when they are shot and survive, if you have medics the medics will go out onto the battlefield and get the wounded soldier. After a certain amount of time the soldiers who get treated can fight again, saving stars for more troops. Medics can’t be shot as it is a war crime. With the upgrade thing it would be cool to add in an upgrade for medics so that 2 of them come out with a stretcher, it would increase their speed and help them get more troops in quicker. Also I think it would be cool to add in the French and the Bulgarians for new countries, maybe even the ANZACs.

Add more nations like USA, Japan and the French. Also for tank based upgrades you could maybe have increased hp and at the end an extra machine gun. If more nations are added, have like a nation's special upgrade at tier 4 where each nation gets a unique boost that is historically accurate example: germany - blitzkrieg - all units extra speed.

I've seen this a few times now, but I think a cool Arty upgrade would be to be able to add more shells into the barrage. And maybe as a visual affect there could be a pile of shells building up as the players fire the arty. As for a country I think maybe Austria-Hungary, or France considering they were some of the first nations in the War. Just a suggestion, love the way the game is looking. :)

I have a few ideas. I feel that there should be a way to retreat specific type of troops or at least hold them back when you charge (an exaple would be holding snipers back as they are rather expensive and you don't want them dying from a charge). Another thing you could do is you make more money when you hold more trenches.

have trench combat so normal units storm the trench and do mealy combat but chosen units hold back and provide support . also have different Countries have deferent units and stats. as in only the Americans had shot guns and they had great small arms so make them better at Assaulting. only the Germans had flamethrowers butt they only had a few tanks so make them more expensive. the British had the best bolt action rifle of ww1 and they had lots of tanks so make infantry fire faster and tanks cheaper for them. the French had bad mgs and tanks butt were the best at defending so take that into consideration. the Russa had lots of men so Maby cheap infantry.

My idea for a better research tree would be to have special colonial regiments that change between countries. Germany could have the Afrika Korps and Belgian Collaborators while the Brits could have the Gurkhas and ANZAC. As for new factions, I'd suggest the French (blue) and Austrians (white). Another idea I had was troop morale and it would vary between friendly trenches and would apply to the AI too. It would be affected by stuff like losses, barrage and gas damages, distance from closest enemy trench and having trenches switch hands several times. If it gets low enough, your troops rebel and join the enemy ranks.

I think France and Austria-Hungry as the next two countries I also agree that all the major countries should have buffs and debuffs like France would be better defence but have slower movement speed. I think in addition to a major country you should be able to choose a minor country like Canada, Bulgaria or Australia. Where they would provide a buff to all your other troops.

There should be a zombie mode where they only attack in the night (with the day/night cycle) and during the day you fortify and build (maybe add some buildings like sniper towers or mines) and when they kill a troop it converts but when you kill a troop they respawn there with less health and they are slower (maybe they have no legs or head or something and they cant convert) but it would be really cool. Edit: flamethrowers would be more expensive but when they kill a zombie they burn to ashes and cant respawn

what if you added medics that healed 5 soldiers in their trench for 5% of there health every 3 seconds. These numbers are subject to change. Then you could make upgrades that makes them be able to heal more people, heal them for more, heal them faster, and maybe even have a late game upgrade that made it so that they could bring your men back from the dead. For there weapon you could give them a pistol like the officer.

Each faction could have special units for example Russians could have horses etc anyway these special units (Russians could be white or grey) could be dependent on maybe a general similar to stick war 3 like a British general who gives like a passive money bonus, or a German general who gives a passive speed buff. Maybe lower the chance of the troops throwing them?(the damage is somewhat realistic so I wouldn't change the damage) And maybe add another troop "Anti-tank troops/heavy troops)" they have body armor level 1 by default, slower(10%~20%), but have the WW1 anti-tank guns ( basically a hand-held cannon) with slower fire rate.

Only about half of the soldiers should get grenades or you could add grenadiers which which would have grenades and maybe you could upgrade officers to have grenades and maybe give them out or add suppliers who will give grenades and ammunition (which means soldiers will run out of ammunition). Also you add the Ottoman Empire, Russia, Austria-Hungry, France, and USA. You should also make every country have their own perks. Last you should add moral and the soldiers what fight harder with higher moral but if they run out of moral they have a chance of leaving your army. You can regain moral by getting kills, taking trenches getting more troops etc. then you lose moral when your troops die one troops leaves losing a trench etc.

I would love to see the flags that change colours when you take a trench be the flag of the nation that controls it, or controlled it last, and white if it has never been controlled. I would also love to see the eastern front of the war as well, with Russia as an option. Perhaps the Eastern front could be for the harder difficulties, given the cold. This would of course come with Russia as a play choice, which might have limited troop options, but cheaper units etc. Perhaps the french could also be added, for the current "front" of the game. As a final note, I would love to see this game be able to be played on MacOS. Thanks so much for all your hard work and what a great game!

Suggestion: what if you could build bridges over the trenches so it could help with mobility for troops and you can remove them anytime or if artiliary shoots it and it breaks and tanks could roll over it.

SUGGESTION: you could have a second research tree for units (infantry and tanks) where specific units would get small upgrades for small prices of stars instead of medals. (Like for example an average upgrade would be around 600 stars maybe). Instead of giving the units statistical buffs, like the current tech tree, it could add unique upgrades, such as having a slightly different and slightly better weapon, still keeping to the original theme of course. One unit that could be particularly interesting for this would be the officer. I suggest that you can get certain officer abilities with a command radius of sorts to go along with it. Examples of this could be bayonet charges, using riflemen, or maybe if you were to make a grenadier unit the officer could order an innaccurate but still powerful barrage. These abilities wouldn't be too strong, but strong enough to make an impact. They would also most likely need a small cooldown. Anyways, I hope you take my idea into account, and keep up the good work, I love these videos!

An interesting idea might be to give certain units special abilities. Ex: you can only see the no-man's-land Infront of your farthest troops during night, but officers have flashlights that allow you to see two trench's ahead.

For the tank upgrades, improved canon reload and accuracy would definitely be good upgrades to get, as well as better armor and speed. In fact, you could make them into two separate paths that work as one way tradeoffs, with one path providing more bullets and speed at the cost of accuracy and armor, or better accuracy and survivability at the cost of slower fire rate and traversal.

Well my ideas would be: In general we need splits in the reseach tree, maybe even ones that are like "you can get only get X or Y". For Vehicles: First upgrade: Reduce cooldown, and after that a split into faster and more vehicles, and another with stronger (more damage, faster reload more hp, maybe an anti-anti-tank-explosives upgrade) Also somewhere there has to be an expensive upgrade that lets vehicles defend trenches (but maybe they are weaker when defending, or need a bit of time to get going again) For general troops: I would combine the trees into: 1 - reduce cooldown 1 2 - split => reduce cooldown 2 / Armour 1 (more armor, slows down) 3 - split exklusive (even more armour, slows down even more say from 90% to 80%) / fast troops (maybe also shoot a bit faster to make it a bit stronger?) 4 - (still in the exclusive trees) - something like power armour-ish? (Really good protection, brings speed up to say 90% speed) / even faster troops that, again, shoot quicker. So basicly you can evolve your army into 2 outcomes, but never have "the 100% best setup" the best changes, for example on a map with lots of slow downs fast units may be better.

You could add like with a tank tree having a better gun like from a 10mm to a 25mm or something but that would do more damage to tanks and you could increase the amount of guns on tanks and that would do more infantry damage then armor is just 2 areas one for anti infantry so like grenades and k bollets do less damage and one for tanks so tanks do less damage.

I think it could be cool to have different upgrades for the tanks. Maybe a reload speed upgrade, or a damage upgrade, or a speed upgrade, or an armor upgrade for enhanced health. Keep making amazing videos! I love them!

You can make an upgrade on the research tree for The rifleman so they have bayonets for melee attacks. 😊

Baron should make air raids and bombing runs by bombers and make it a tier I or max tier at tier III and each bombs do different damage to specific soldiers

When you add the day, and night cycle, You could add some lights to the tanks and bunkers, so that it is very cozy

You should introduce the Russian empire to the Stickman Trenches and also you should be able to change the machine gun to a anti tank gun.

Baron, you should add heavy tank upgrades, the Mark 1 is the starting tank, but the more you upgrade it, the more it increases, like to the Mark 2, Mark 3. You can also add planes that were in ww1, fighters to counter bombers and bombers to attack the ground units (the planes need research to unlock). Perhaps also add delivering troops, they will deliver food, water and if you upgrade the soldiers' loadout, they can also bring the newer armor, guns, and others instead of just having the old soldiers have the old loadout. You can also add close ranged weapons like an officer's sword or bayonets for close range combat, perhaps also add calvary charges that has people on horses that use the close ranged weapons I said earlier.

Hey BaronVonGames here are things you should add 1) A mini-gunner (a faster version of a machine_gunner) 2) You should stickmans ammo so the ammo won't be unlimited 3) Add health to stickmans

OH! I like the idea of having scenarios where both sides have 2 factions with different tech trees and strategizing, which upgrades to unlock against your opponents multiple twch trees.

Introduce France, Austria-Hungary, the Ottoman empire and Russia. WW1 is when trench warfare was used.

If the troops meet half way the hawk troops could stab them but hawk troops would be 6 meddles

SUGGESTION I think it would be very interesting if we had a "suicide" attack option as you ask yourself, in ww1 there were many attacks that had melee combats so it would be interesting to have the herd option they go to conquer, of course some would stay back more imagine hand-to-hand combat in this amazing game,and also the guy who carries the flag knows there's always one who takes the flag at the time of the attack usually when it's the last chance, this in particular would be just a detail to make it more cute (could also be an evolution in the research tree)
