I would like to see you make a knife in the old-school style with just hammers and an anvil may be an open forge with no power tools. To see if you can still get the same great quality. like the bowie knife, you made for the knife smith journeyman's test.

I wasn't initially going to watch this one, but I'm glad I did. Watching you two manhandle than massive piece of steel under the big hammer gave me such 19th century industrial vibes and I loved it. That initial shaping felt like a more manual version of those videos of massive connecting rods and machine parts being forged.

what a great video, love the dialogs looking how to solve problems, loved some slow motion shots showcasing how the big hammer works, and how you both work together, also like how much mass the small hammer can move.

It seems like you could use the same type of lifting rig Alec made for himself when he made a giant blade for the guys on How Ridiculous. I mean, you had a second pair of hands this time, but might not for future projects. Also, either Nick is huge or you are tiny...guy's like twice your size! Great vid, now what are you going to do with it ? I'd weld 2 eyes on it, get it sandblasted and hot zinc sprayed so it wont rust and hang it on a wall mounted wrought iron bracket on chains, make a great shop sign.

I suggest you use it to make a ridiculously proportioned sign for your shop. Scale up the logo you use to engrave in your kitchen products and carve it into a board, then hang it under the giant blacksmith knife over the door of the shop.

How about forging a side-axe. A side-axe is an axe or hatchet with one side flat, so you can trim hand made shingles, etc.

You have your big Beaudry hammer and you have also used the big Chambersberg over at Alex’s shop. You seem to prefer mechanical hammers over pneumatic. Do they offer an advantage when forging or is it due to their mechanical awesomeness?
