Today we're looking at how our op-amp golden rules can make those annoying things about transistors disappear completely! No more VBE drop, No more temperature problems!
By putting a transistor in the feedback loop of an Op-Amp, the negative feedback will enable us to monitor what the output of the transistor is, and the op-amp will compensate for any variations or unkown quantities in the transistor. Making our transistor designs much easier to manage!

Wow. Op amps are better at biasing transistors than I was in school. 😆

Wow, you're the tutor I wish I had at uni! Your videos are really great. I like how most new concepts you introduce you describe in terms of solving a problem you've just illustrated. Thank you!

Thanks so much! I always try and set everything in the context of something you can actually do, i feel like it makes everything easier to grasp. I can't learn something unless i can imagine what it's actually doing!

Hi, thank you very much for these videos mate. I wonder if the op-amp driven class b amplifier had any other imperfections other than the requirement of high slew rate op-amp at high frequencies

I made the 2nd circuit with an LM324 (rail to rail), 2n3906 PNP, 1k Rc, 1k pot on the emitter, 5v supply. While the circuit works, I can't get an emitter voltage below 1.3v when I set my vref below that (however if I configure the LM324 as a buffer, it tracks the voltage below 1.7v very close to low rail just fine though). Any ideas why the ~1.3v limit?

amazing content, thank you very much for your clear and practical demonstrations. I have almost watched all your videos, but I wonder if you have made such a clear video on the why's and hows of designing a power supply for an opamp. Keep up the good work! :-)

@@TheAudioPhool Great minds think alike! Hahaha.. Please don't rush it. I know how tempting it is to hit upload and then later come to the realisation I should have edited that or added this. Your video series is already a treasure trove of information and your enthusiasm is very inspiring, so we're happy to wait for the final product, take your time.
