I agree with you, it's difficult to find information even now. The best books I've been able to find don't tell much about the possible issues with things like delamination or details on patterns like twist, except that you have to twist it. In days past blacksmiths kept their methods hidden, I thought we had advanced far enough that we could at least share the broader areas of our metalworking knowledge. Thank you for calling it out and making this video.

@@Freizeitflugsphaere they translate in German, it's not much of an issue really, the video is good enough to understand a lot of what's going on. I'm really only watching mokume gane videos because I love it but my forge is down for the moment so I can't make any right now. You did give me some pattern ideas though so thank you. Did you use silver, nickel, or nickel silver for that layer? I know you used copper and brass but the language barrier issue makes it hard to tell, it kind of looks like nickel silver.

@@Bearfoot-e3e should also be possible though to translate into english. It's nickelsilver, its an alloy made out of copper nickel and zinc.👍🏻

Ich hab's auch gemacht! Den Ofen nachgebaut, bisschen größer. Ich hab zwei kupferlegierungs Pakete gemacht bei 816 Grad. Das hat funktioniert! Jetzt wird umgeformt, ich freu mich so! Ich meld mich nochmal :)

Coole Sache, ich hätte nicht gedacht, dass das so schwer ist (ich bin nur Schlosser und angehender Chemiker, deshalb kenne ich mich nur oberflächlich (aber mehr als der Durchschnitt) in der Materie des Schmidens aus).

Sieht richtig gut aus 👌🏼 Welche Steine hast du eigentlich für deinen Härteofen genutzt? Suche schon länger herum, finde immer nur bis ca 1300 Grad und bin mir zwecks Haltbarkeit etwas unsicher.

Das schaut echt super aus! Welches Metall macht dir bei schmieden die meisten Probleme, ich würd ja aufs Messing tippen, oder reißen alle 3 Metalle?
