Greetings, I've got this music studio that keeps destroying breakers. I've replaced them twice and toasted the second one about a year ago. I stopped writing music because I don't want the house to go up in flames. I'm guessing I run over 2400 watts on that 20a breaker. The computer alone uses 1400w i believe. Would creating a mwbc solve my problem?

OK got 95 volts on super commercial grade FLUKE meter digital readout AC selection with brand new 9 volt battery so no issue with tester. Little 5 dollar Kobalt tester shows bright orange on right and very light orange in middle so got power to that outlet ( THE GANG BOX with 5 wires )but no power to both tiny bathrooms lights/ Other outlet brand new shows 95 volts. Third outlet totally no power even with brand new tester kind just uses close proximity testing and chirps to show some voltage. So my guess that third is the OPEN NUETRAL and going to replace that one.

@@thelovetemple333. Ok, I will test you a little! In a dwelling unit as classified by NEC, how many 15 or 20 ampere duplex receptacles can you connect to a 15a branch circuit, or a 20a branch circuit? If you have a ground fault in an electric heater (hot to metal case) the current travels along the EGC to the main panel of your house. What path does the current take from the Main panel?

Ok David went out bought 5 dollar high quality outlet only to find the 1.25 one had a tab as well. I have what appears to be tow outlets connected together and a single pole stnd Switch to control the outlet that has on hot side Black on bottom gold screw red on top screw / White one on top silver and white on bottom silver and another white wire screwed to silver on bottom. Now Kobalt test comes back Hot /Grnd Reversal on both outlets. Other outlet is simple stnd with white / Blk and ground connected on top. What the F is going on here???? Put brand new outlets again and same thing even getting only 85.5 volts at the black and neutral screws with a damn good 100 dollar FLuke Multi meter of course AC and put brand new battery just to make sure accurate.,...PS the idiot who did this wiring did 40 years ago!

Open neutral Turn off power and check and tighten all white wires. The tab on the silver side connects the neutral through. Don't remove it for a half hot. You probably removed both tabs. One of the wires is hot full time the other switched.
