Expert: You can’t do it without lathe or mill! Slavik: Do you even live bud? Amazing skills! For those smart asses who suggested to buy a lathe, you really think he doesn’t know it would be easier? Or maybe he’s afraid to use it? He shows to majority of viewers without these machines, that difficult tasks like these, still could be performed with common tools. Respect!

Tely, I'm sure I've offered before, but I have a Bridgeport with a dividing head/spin indexer. If you ever need anything made, I'm local to you. Or heck, if you want to play with it even.

This might be a new record for most labor intensive pommel ever! As I was watching all the markup I imagined what you could do with a lathe. I have to bet the balance in the hand turned out incredible!

Your ability to accurately machine material with simple tools and real hand work is one of the most valuable contributions to knife making by anyone on the web and should be required viewing for new machinist as well.

Making the butt cap with no lathe seemed like quite the chore, but you knocked it out and proved you can accomplish absolute precision by hand, well done!!

When I saw you start to mark out the pommel I was thinking “I didn’t see a lathe in his set up”. Truely eye opening to see the way you planned out a difficult task and used skill and a massive amount of precision to complete it. Thank you for sharing this build.

I cant believe your skills at eyeballing things. You make round things with flat machines, and when you mill off the sides of the blade in complex curves with just a belt sander, my mind is blown.

Thank for showing how you make pummel nuts. I am about at make may first one for a Bowie and without a lathe it makes it hard. But with your style of doing it I may try It this way. It’s the Tely way

@@gregnorvell9730 That's one of the elemental differences between " learnig a Profession, or just doing it! " ;) Over here we spend three and a half years in training pupils to learn a Job. Saftyrequirements includet. after that time, they' ve got to improof if they're able to do the Job, or not. Wearing Gloves while working on a Bandsaw, or rotating machines, is an absolutet Satfety No Go ! ;)

Have you ever made a mechanical or folding knife? A balisong would be a cool build, and theyre one of the easiest non fixed blade knives to make too

@@SLAVIKTELY Mine fits nicely on top of my tool box. It's small, 8 x 14 Lathemaster. You can Google it. They don't make my brand anymore, but there are plenty of small quality lathes out there. The Lathemaster was one step up from a true mini-lathe. Still a Chinese import, but slightly bigger and higher quality, and from looking at this video, it would be the perfect size for you. Thanks again...

Amazing craftsmanship! But please don't use gloves on the saw! If the teeth catch them, the saw might pull your hand in. Don't want you to get injured! Keep it up and stay safe and healthy!

Even a mini lathe would have cut the amount of work here to about 20%. And those are cheep-ish. It was still enjoyable to watch though.

​@@SLAVIKTELY I guess you are right, there are mini lathes that can handle 1.5" work, but they are still actually big and would take a lot of space. Not to mention crazy expensive. I was just trying to be helpful, as I see a lot of other people in here. Just finished watching part 4 and the knife turned out great :)
