Always feels good to get back into the mountains. Windrock is famous for its EXTREME downhill bike park, but they have been quietly building "XC" trails over the past few years as well. What an awesome surprise with some really tough riding. A bit pricey, but still tons of fun.

@@joshblum6245 Myself and one other guy have built and maintained those trails since 2009 when we stopped building at the DH side. While, we don't get any of that $28, we do get acres and acres of raw, natural, untapped terrain to build whatever we want.Truth be known, we only really build those trails for ourselves and our friends. We are happy that others ride them and enjoy themselves, but we never do it for the money. All of those trails are hand built with nothing but Rogue Hoes and saws. Don't need money to build trails.

For people complaining about the $28, it is 100 for an annual pass (for those who live close). Which is a hell of a deal for single track hand cut by volunteers. These trails were built by hand from the OG windrock DH trail builders. Windrock takes the money, but the core keeps and maintains it. Well worth the money.

The main takeaway from BKXC videos for me is to pick new lines that I'm uncomfortable with. I'm an XC rider, mostly focused on speed and fitness, so I tend to find the path of least resistance. In the past couple months, I've sought out nastier lines to test myself and grow. So, thanks Brian...good inspiration!

My fav comment "Ok, now I know why everyone's rides are only 6 miles long". Exactly. I always feel like a wimp when I talk to someone out west in a dry climate putting in 16 mile rides and i'm like "yeah... I rode 8 mi...." the tech (and humidity if it's summer) take it out of you. Also... North Side is a great 1st descent warm up lap... not that advice after the fact is very useful *shrug* Great vid. Nice job rolling in on the flat rock.

Windrock XC is no joke! Nothing XC about it. For those asking why it costs 28 smackers, it’s on private land. The entire area is ATV trails, Windrock Bike Park and camping facilities. The fee is considered a “ land use permit “. One of the few places you pay to ride in TN. It’s worth it though!
