I have and old KJV with Apochrypha and the 1928 BCP American that needs rebinding. Now, I know what to do! I do like having a copy of the Apochrypha around, and I like the Miles Coverdale Psalter, so getting that old book repaired because it has sentimental value is now on my to do list. I really enjoy your videos.

I’ve done some hand bookmaking, it’s a real art, and a lot of labor, but not impossible for an amateur. But a bible is a massive project to attempt alone.

Unfortunately, I live in the US and know of no place to buy bible paper (to keep it from being 3 inches thick). Do you have any advice for someone like myself, on how to get the right paper, and where to turn for printing on bible paper? I appreciate the help so much.

That’s so awesome 👏🏼. I might try this on regular paper, and i will have a lot of space for note taking. But i would just put it in a notebook or planner. I have done this with an inexpensive bible put it it a notebook and tore off is glued binding and hole punched it, totally made it my own. I love it 😍 god bless

Yep, this is awesome .. truly awesome. I assume you had cut edges on the spine side as apposed to signatures like you would have in a smyth sewn bible? Any reason you can think of why you couldn't create your own signatures? It would seem you would for sure have to cut the pages though once its sewn ... thus you would have to find some place that can make those kinds of cuts.

Bob Gunner thanks for your comment. Actually for a couple of the Bibles that I made I bought paper with the grain running the right way so that it falls flat when you open it. Then with one other Bible I had it Smyth sewn and each part was part of a folder section which is the same as what you would find in the Bibles off the shelf 🙂

That is really cool!! I never thought that you could be able to make your own Bible. I wish I could do that but I already have a few really good Bibles including a KJV that I'm waiting on that I paid $10 for on Amazon and it's leather bound as well. Good job on making a Bible. It looks great.

Yes it’s definitely cheaper to buy Bibles that are mass produced and today the ones you find in the store are also fantastic quality

Where does a lay person today go to buy scritta paper? I would like to format, print, and leather bind my own Bible, but obtaining the paper is the main roadblock.

OK. So I have been looking for a specific Bible for quite some time and I can NOT find it anywhere. I want the Bible to be ONLY 3/4-1inch thick. But I want it to be fairly large in width and length. Almost like a journal......where do I even start with Bible printing paper. I can have it sent to be bound....I just want a journal 11-12x8-9 inch Bible.....and still be THIN as possible.

People need to keep in mind that only certain King James versions are in public domain. All material that is under copyrights can not be used in this manner. It is stealing, even if you are just doing this for yourself. We would not want to break Gods 6th commandment by using copyrighted material, nor would we want to steal from our brothers and sisters in Christ. So if you are going to print out a bible, make sure it is out of copyrights and in public domain.

Thank you, but how can I do that for really cheap? It’s hard to find an nasb with thick paper and no bleed through letters, that doesn’t have huge margins. I think the Bible printing companies need to seriously look into making bibles with no bleed through, it’s really distracting.

You can download the KJV bible from google online. I believe it’s the only version you can download as it’s the only one no copyrighted

to make this one because it was the first one and only a one off it cost $100 Aud. However when we print a much greater volume it should reduce that cost significantly because the leather and binding will be done at a much cheaper rate.

Hi mate, I bought the paper from a local supplier and it was just 50gsm paper on standard photocopier so not too much to it

I did 5 Bibles in Lulu Publishers its easy. This is a preparation once Bibles are banned to sell you must do your own!

It is smart to create durable, long-lasting copies of the book so that they will remain available. After all, in Amos 8 it says in the end days they will look from sea to sea searching for the Word of God but will not find it.

The KJV is not copyright protected. There is a copyright on it, held by the UK government (because King James issued a Royal Prerogative restricting anyone outside of the original copyists and translators from distributing and printing copies), but it's not enforced at all these days. Because of that, the KJV can be considered as effectively having no copyright.

Clorox Bleach I’m not quite sure to be honest, we run a printing business so I used our office Photocopier, however it’s about 950 a5 prints (475 double sided). So probably not a whole lot as it’s only text and it’s black ink

@Canon : the Webster Bible 1833-1995 corrects some errors in the King James and updates the language to modern English. It’s basically an update for the King James.
