I have the same machine with the curved shaft ER2600L Nothing to say about the engine, it runs perfect for years now. Very solid and no need adjustments on the carburator so far. The only thing I was not happy with was the vibrations but since I replaced the head by another model from Makita, vibrations are way less now. I guess the original head was a bit cheaper.

I like this model better than the 4 stroke I lost 75% use of my right arm so I need the lightest weed whacker they make I had at 1 time it is RBC251 weed whacker it was the best one makita ever made if I could ever find that 1 again I would buy Twenny Of them its the best machine makita ever made the lightest thing you could ever hold

Why when I close the choke (up), the engine stalls??!

China doesn't bother me much as long as it says made in china and they don't try to hide it. A lot of the Echo equipment is made in China. Briggs is really the only company that went the opposite way and has moved production from China to the US! Looks like a well built trimmer. I have a Dolmar dealer near me and always check out the equipment when I stop by. Would love a PS-7910 saw from them.

crazyjdkid Thanks for the comment. A lot of different machinery will often say made in the USA with global components etc. To be honest I'm not completely biased to where something is made. But I do enjoy my Japanese made small engines. I hope to get a stihl fs250 one day.

I am partial towards the Swedish stuff! Husqvarna is my go to for small engines, but I own just about every brand! I wish I had a need for a trimmer like the Stihl FS250, my 224L does my 5 acres pretty well.
@pimpinpenz7 жыл бұрын
Swedish stuff eh, I love Volvo cars haha. I own an Audi but my girlfriend has an s70 which is now her second one as she totalled her first one in a collision. My dad owns a Volvo 850. I personally am not a fan of Husqvarna products. I haven't had much luck with them, But i can tell you when purchasing the FS91R it was quite a tie for me between the 322L and the 91R. I ended up paying a little bit more and got the Stihl. I will be sure to get a Husqvarna to review next year.
@crazyjdkid7 жыл бұрын
Oh I'm only Swedish for small engines! All of our vehicles are Japanese, mostly Honda and Mazda. I love my '08 Ridgeline. I thought the 322L and 91R were in different classes! Ever since Kawasaki stopped making handhelds, I made the switch to Husqvarna. All the Echos seem to develop fuel problems, Stihls are nice but you either love your dealer or hate them and they refuse to give any type of discount and the most of the Redmax stuff is temperamental! That's what I have experienced. But non the less I have been slowly replacing older equipment with 4 cycle equipment.
@pimpinpenz7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I've never owned a Japanese vehicle before, I've thought about it, but I've only ever owned European and American vehicles. Primarily my cars being European. Yeah you're right about Echo with fuel related problems. But in most cases the cause is due to 87 octane ethanol enriched fuel. I run 91 with 0% ethanol content and I have absolutely no problems what so ever. In my opinion Echo products are slightly underpowered. Also the 322L and 91R, are in different classes but there was only a $50 price difference. The 91R being the more expensive of the two. Your comment regarding the dealer. In my situation the only reason why I have a dealer is to purchase equipment. I service all of my own equipment and would much rather know that the job is done right by my self than to rely on someone else to do so. Im not so much connected to the dealer but use them as a means to purchase equipment. But I can tell you the Stihl dealer in which I purchased my 91R from was great. They also sell, Shindaiwa, Echo and Honda products.

Couple of questions related to the trimmer.. First is the trimmer shaff driven or a wire driven. Also what's the oil/gas mixture. 2% or what? Thank you.

In future it might help doing your review after you have actually used the machine a few times. I have one of these & although it looks bullet proof it's cheaply made, poorly put together rubbish. I have an older Makita 2500 from the mid 80's & it is an excellent machine & still going strong too. But it was made tough in Germany. The hand grips on the EM2600L are "just Wrong", they feel wrong and they are fixed in one position, which is the wrong position. Unless you are about 5 ft tall you are going to suffer from back ache in no time flat, I do. No thought about the user went into the design of this machine. The feed head is the cheapest poorly made piece of plastic that I have ever seen on a brush cutter & it comes apart if you even touch anything hard (like a tree trunk). The dodgy plastic throttle is stiff, clunky and it really puts too much strain on your fingers too. Don't BUY this Brush cutter, get something decent.I wish I had never laid eyes on mine & I went back to the old one I own.

Ive owned this trimmer since 2017 I can do another review after 3 years of ownership. Its still in great operating condition.
@erwinmaes31053 жыл бұрын
everything will break if you run it full throttle all day long. have the EM2600U and the throttle is realy smooth and not stiff at all (the plastic does feel cheap).. haven't own it for long so can't tell something about durability (still breaking in the engine) but i do use the expensive Aspen2 fuel because it's better for the lifespan off the engine.. BUT for only 177€ it feels like a good machine for the money..

hey man i just purchased a used echo srm 266 and when i rev it up more than half throttle it seems to vibrate like crazy. any idea on what's wrong with it? not sure if i'm gonna have to replace the drive shaft. any suggestions would be appreciated.

Does the engine reach full operating rpm like normal? And does it do it while idling? Something i can suggest is for you to make a video on the concern and send it to me and i will have a look. If that isn't possible, from what i can understand so far, I would recommend removing the engine from the shaft run the engine and see if the engine is vibrating or something along the driveline.
@chivosadventures81717 жыл бұрын
pimpinpenz the engine reaches full rpm very nicely, and no it doesn't do it while idling. i believe it does have something to do with the driveline.
@chivosadventures81717 жыл бұрын
pimpinpenz so i'm clueless as to what to do with it?
@pimpinpenz7 жыл бұрын
Chivos adventures Well if you believe it's in the driveline as I've stated remove the engine and run the engine without the shaft attached. If the engine continues to vibrate the issue is the engine if not, check the trimmer head for play etc. Make a video thanks

i found this to short and im only 5.8 iput a bigger handle on it which made it abit better but now after only 2 weeks its giving me problems the revs are going up and down and if it gets used for to long it just cuts out

Nice review, but I can't even find it on Amazon! But a year or so ago, I bought a 4 stroke Makita handheld blower and the only issue I have had is a very flimsy (at least by the screw that holds it on) air filter cover, so careful not to bump the cover as it may break by the screw. Does the trimmer have both a foam and clothlike air filters? Keep up the reviews as I would like to see the new Hitachi/Tanaka trimmers. Regards from Hawaii!
@pimpinpenz7 жыл бұрын
kauaiphotography this machine has only a foam filter. I purchased this on amazon.ca as I am Canadian! Thanks for the great comment. I will be careful around the air filter housing as I can understand how such a piece could break easily! I will have a video of my hitachi trimmers in about a weeks time or so. The new model hitachi/ tanaka trimmers have not been released in Canada as of now.
@kauaiphotography7 жыл бұрын
I appreciate the personal reply. Don't know why they don't make the filter housing a little beefier by the screw attachment point or maybe use a plastic that is more like the one on my old Echo SRM-210i. I should of elaborated that the new models of Hitachi/Tanaka could be just cosmetics and the engine/top end, carb, etc .... could be basically the same as the previous models. I tried looking for either a parts list or owners manual to get some idea of how well they are made as the Tanaka and Hitachi web sites are not very informative or in some cases doesn't seem like they have been updated recently. I owned the Hitachi trimmer you reviewed a few years ago and found it cheaply made even compared to a low end Echo. But the low weight was nice and that is what I am looking for now. Looking forward to your Hitachi video in the next week or two. Best regards ....
@pimpinpenz7 жыл бұрын
The new Hitachi/ Tanaka models have made a change in displacement. For example the smaller unit which was the 21.1cc model which i have is now 22cc. Now to address your comment regarding the quality / feel of the machine. A lot of people have said the same to me regarding the plastic, feel etc. They said it feels cheap. Im not sure why but i rather enjoy the build quality of the machine. I have two Hitachi 21cc trimmers as well as one 23.9cc trimmer. The 23.9cc trimmer is garbage. Its not made well. The engine doesn't have much power in comparison to the 21cc counterpart. The clutch slips and its just not well made. Im not sure what it is but i feel as if maybe some people got bad clutches or something of that nature? I have owned my hitachi since 2013 and i haven't experienced a single hiccup with it yet. Keep in mind my video will only be over going the hitachi models i own. As I'm from Canada the newer models are not available here. Thanks for your input! Appreciate the comments.
