Marvel once again sets a new standard for Superhero Projects. Speedsters having slow mo scenes was cool at first but it’s been overused to hell to the point where it got boring. Makkari in Eternals was a breath of fresh air, when it comes to speedsters we want to see them be fast!

@@kylejohns2288that is a very good scene but for a different reason as they show different perspectives such as in the eternals her speed is shown to us at our perspective showing the flashes of light that follow her not slowing down the action or pace of the moment were as in X men quicksilvers scene is shown from his perspective with time practically standing still to show the world from his perspective and show us the fun and excitement that super speed brings by showing him having fun by playing with the surroundings while they fly in the air that is a very cinematic moment because of the speed in which it is shown to us companied by the musical score it’s in general an amazing scene and one not often portrayed in media and to really bring to life the “faster than a speeding bullet” phrase so often used with those that possess super speed of some form as it’s not often shown to the satisfaction of viewers in the live action format so the fact that the eternals didn’t slow her down to show her off and instead made her almost impossible to see brings back the life that speedsters are known for Sorry this was long I was typing as I was thinking but I sure as hell ain’t gonna add the punctuations as I typed this on a phone at 12am 💀

The CW Flash (mainly in earlier seasons) knew how to animate a speedster. Whether it was using a blur effect, lightning, or panning that camera to and fro at the right moment to create the illusion of speed, they were creative in how they used the Flash’s power. The DCEU flash gets old reeeal quick.

Which is such an important detail. The faster you move the heavier you act upon things. That's why speedsters are so dangerous. They can pack the weight of every jumbo jet ever made into 1 punch, and then do that 100 times a second

I mean, it is based on a certain type of ice skating which actually reduces wind resistance and friction, which would be good for someone running at such insane speeds with infinitely more friction. But yes, it does look stupid. Edit: I know that the Speed Force essentially negates friction, among other things. I am merely explaining the reasoning behind the decision for Flash running like that.

I will never understand how both the visuals and storytelling of The Flash droped so hard as the show progressed. The frist seasosn are really good, and mostly of the speed scenes are visually interesting in a lot of ways. I even feel bothered whem ppl use the Flash movie as Speedster standad and how bad it looks because a CW show proved they could do a LOT bettter. And even Quicksilver scenes being great as they are, The Flash show early seasons and Eternals actually portrayed how speedsters without recurring to slowmo every single time, proving that 200mi movies should have done better.

The camera was struggling to catch up with the character if you look at It. The shots going almost as fast as her were very short as well to avoid that bad effect like in "The Flash". Maybe that's just me but that's what I think made the difference.

I've always thought Makkari's superspeed was IMPECCABLY done, especially with the gold accents that appear whenever any of the Eternals use their powers. I love specifically when she kind of stumbles after jumping before instantly zipping off again, things like that really help to make it more believable and add to why its good, as well as the camera being steady while Makkari did a U-turn and then following her forward help to show speed

Even if they process the world in fast motion, as what I think you're saying, it's pretty common in many series. Most of the CW series Flash was thinking at a faster motion, which I think is only for plot but nonetheless, he did. The DCEU Flash perceives things at faster motion, but probably because the DCEU sucks. Quicksilver is the only reoccurring speedster on screen that we see actively thinking that fast. Others CAN think that fast but DON'T. I don't think Makkari is an exception, we see her talking while running a whole lot in the movie. She's definitely capable of thinking at higher speeds but she's so mad at Ikaris that her mind went scattered and she slipped. As a speedster, you always need focus.
