The cherry blossom trees in my city have begun blooming, which always reminds me of 5cm/s, and the inseparable, beautiful soundtrack Tenmon created for the film. One more year until the 15th anniversary of the film; hope to see you all back here then :)
@timytimotius46793 жыл бұрын
I hope Makoto would make a sequel for the 20th anniversary of the 5cm/s movie. Perhaps for one last side of adult takaki meeting up again with kanae in tokyo.

One of the delights of Shinkai's work are his inconsequential scenes - cuts between other scenes. Little details of street life or light falling on an appliance in an ordinary home. The reflection of train headlights on wet rails, some rain falling... You might see some of these stills for less than a second yet each is a work of art worthy of any gallery. Incredible. What a gifted man. May he go on to make more beautiful animated films.

He's like Tsutumo nihei in how he tells his stories mainly through his beautiful visuals, music, etc. His movies are my inspiration. Favourite director ever
@DanielYadgaroff9 жыл бұрын
ShizukuSeiji Indeed. He succeeded to portray what we unconsciously observe in real life. Things like seeing a falling leaf that lands on the hood of a car for example or watching a shadow change it's shape with the movement of the tree branch. We see these things but don't really give them that much attention. But they are real and by including these tiny details he gives an incomparable sense of realism to his work. Outstanding creator!

"But I'm sure that even if we had written 1000 text messages back and forth our hearts probably wouldn't have moved even 1 cm closer"
@timytimotius46793 жыл бұрын
That one hurts yet true. One makes me wonder, who wrote that message to takaki? Is it akari or riza? Since one, takaki and akari never dating each other. The only girl that takaki dated from the movie is riza. But two, if it's riza, then why did she said the "1000 messages" thing to takaki and make takaki "wake up from his dream and face reality"? Didn't they met each other daily since they (used to) work at the same company?

my most favorite scene is the part when takaki and kanae were staring at the launched rocket as the entire scenery became quiet and still, even the birds and bugs, holding their breath. And i love Kumo no Basho, so many nice scenes. sayuri falling from the board foreshadows her future and to be saved by hiroki. and all the sky scenes~!

But its already too late for that The tears of regret flow down my cheek like rain I would give anything to stop being so damn weak and in constant pain.

The music in Makoto Shinkai's movies is always so beautiful ! I think it accompanies the magnificent animation perfectly and conveys the bittersweet nostalgia of his stories in a really moving way. :3
Not only the instrument, even the pictures are so alive too.. even just a "softdrink machine picture" i can feel like.. "how long that machine been there??", "How many hand touch it??" And then i can imagine all that scene in my head. Really a great art👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️

So sad Shinkai lost this old vibe in his lastest movies. I dont mean those movies arent good, they're fanstastic actually, but the atmostphere he created in his early works are something special and hard to describe by words. Hope to get the feeling of old but good vibe in Shinkai's future movies.

I hope they would make sequel from 5 cm per second. Any story relates with that would be appreciated. I really want to know how Takaki's life after the last train moment, wish he found someone and starts a family like Akari did. He deserves happiness.
@AnhPham-ep6cf2 жыл бұрын
Obviously that's how it should be, with Takaki finally smiling again after all those gloomy years apart from Akari. He finally accepts reality & is ready to move on. I personally think any details or stories revolving around their daily ordinary family life would not as be significant as this story.

This is as bad as hell. So dream like. What a utopia. If only real life was this beautiful. And when you are in hell, life would be terrifying. What a torture. If only real life wasn’t like this. Both extremes offer a case of opposition; duality, opposing forces. There is neither good or bad. Truly.
