(SPOILER) if you didn't play og (AGAIN SPOILER) He's become sort of insensitive to anything shadow related surrounding him due to the moonlight bridge incident 10 years ago. It was hinted at in the og when he literally just walked past em all in that cutscene (it wasn't even shown as much as here) in headphones that aren't even working. This game adds those interactions with the coffins, but he still doesn't rly act surprised or is in awe. At least this was what I thought. Might be wrong, but the mc was pretty much acting like this in most if not all p3 media, so I just tried to make that connection. Ok I reread my own answer, worded it so weirdly i forgot my own point. tl;dr I think Makoto was able to witness the Dark Hour since 10 years ago, maybe I'm wrong** excuse the fix.

The later manga works uses default names after Atlus' official reveal, like Arena duology, Mementos Mission and P3 Reload Beginnings webtoon.

The manga versions just consistently have better names than the game canon 🤷‍♀️ He's voicing the game so it would be weird for him to use the manga name, but both Minato in P3 and Akira in P5 are just more pleasant ❤ If the devs wanted us to use a fixed name, they'd put the name as a suggestion when you start the game, but they don't, so it remains up to us to pick what we like :)
