It's been a while since I've last edited a video! (and I think there might be a minor editing error in here, I apologize!)
So I have been looking forward to this show! Though I have only read the first book and by the time I wanted to read the second book (which was months after), I forgot most of what happened lol so I thought to myself, why not just wait for the series, it might help anddd I'm not sure if it did lmao (I think I'll just reread the first book and start from there!) but I do remember being a malina on the first book and well, show!malina is also serving so I think I still ship them on the show! (plus the fact that I'm just a sucker for childhood friends to lovers trope)

Love this beautiful edit. I understand why darklina shippers hate Mal, but compare to Mal, Darkling is the worse of any being, he’s evil and a serial killer to say the least, even in the tv series, he forced things on Alina and even had to cheat thru asking Mal about her favorite flower to “win” the flower gifting game, you can ship whomever you please, but to insinuate Mal was an awful person while loving Darkling is just hypocritical, Mal is a saint when compare to a man who killed for hundreds of years and torn countries families apart, that said, he’s a great villain character, that is all. Many ppl go through life being mistreated etc yet it’s no excuse to do what he’s done to humanity

He’s a megalomaniac who isolated, lied to and manipulated her. Classic abuser. I’ve seen some Darklina shippers saying Mal and Alina have “brother-sister vibes”, which I get, but that’s because they’re best friends about to become something more.

Can't agree more, but I would like to add additional notes the love should be mutual and that Case is Alina already love Mal from the beginning, then Mal descover she is more Best friend, and Alina choose to go to a logic not a love relationship with darkling because she thought Mal is not love her and forgot about her. Darklina not only was toxic but it wasn't a real, I understand teenagers like the cliche of bad guy /good girl things which can be acceptable with a good build up but that can't be happening in this show cause Alina realy love Mal and vise versa and that is not her case with darkling, also it is a story not a porn show. Netflix please :The show/story shouldn't be destroyed because of teenagers fantasies.

@@jamiekam376 The brother-sister thing sounds ridiculous to me. Because the whole point of loving someone enough to be with them like that is eventually feeling "like family" with them. Feeling "at home" with them. And a lot of people act as if it's the opposite. That the moment characters feel like "family" .... they're siblings, or cousins, etc. Mind you, I know this is just a little less applicable here because Mal and Alina grew up together. But in this I'm referring to couples from several other series. Where an "at home" dynamic between characters who DIDN'T even grow up together .... results in so many people saying they can't be together. That logic makes no sense.

Actually, it is gone forever. The only things that last for a couple of days would be the things Genya applies to Alina like makeup and straightening of the hair. But sadly, when a Tailor removes things, it is permanent. But yeah, that scar meant a lot :((

@@vernhoen I do too! He doesn't deserve it one bit! It is so great to see his perspective and it will for sure help people connect with his character more. I personally when reading the books, which are from Alina's perspective only, put in an extra conscious effort to understand Mal's point of view too when their wasn't much perspective from him as he is another main character, who gets a lot of hate but is such a crucial part to the story. So it felt inportant for me to do that and it lead to me loving him as a character. But now in the show actually seeing his perspective I do think it'll be easier for others to understand Mal as a character which will hopefully lead to more people liking him.
