Work on "Leyland Brothers World" began back in 1983. It opened in 1990, but unfortunately went into receivership in 1992.

Wow, I've never heard of this or them, what is that rather ugly thing they were trying to build?
@JohnAlexanderBerry9 жыл бұрын
***** Hi Tomasina. That ugly looking thing is supposed to be a small scale replica of one of Australia's most famous landmarks - Ayers Rock (Uluru). I guess if you're American you've probably never heard of it (or the Leyland Brothers either). You can see the REAL Ayers Rock here - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uluru#/media/File:Uluru_(Helicopter_view)-crop.jpg

***** I would defiantly go there, it's not ugly like the blob they were trying make from it. I've really got a vibe for places like that, I should live in a desert or something.

A combination of Mike and Mal’s naivety and the bank’s uncontrolled greed. I went there soon after it opened while driving up to the Gold Coast from Sydney. It was a tragic place - a couple of shops inside a huge fibreglass tent that looked like Uluru and a kiddie steam train going through the bush. I couldn’t believe they expected people from Sydney would drive over 3 hours to see that as a day out. And people would do that regularly??!! Very, very tragic all round. The only winner out of it was the bank - no surprise there.

What a shame that a dream turned to a nightmare. You guys showed Australia to world, and to most White Australians that never ventured outside their backyard.

Bob Hawke and Paul Keating era almost wiped all businesses out in Australia. Fortunately that plan failed. Almost took me out. I survived and have gone on the own multiple businesses and employ many people over the years inspite of the unions and labours plan to destroy Australia.

I just don't understand banks. Here they have a functioning business, and the ability to make money, and grow it with merchandise and branding, but the bank options to shutter instead. It doesn't make sense Australian commerce? It's a wonder anything actually succeeds there...I know American businesses certainly do well there, but they are predominantly financed by US banks....crazy!!!
@jamesfrench72995 жыл бұрын
Nancy L. Simon the recent banking royal commission can attest to that. Australian corporate sector is full of scum.
