Finished 1st in the world and didn't even repeat 23.3 that she did on the fly with zero preparation. Absolute beast!

It's insane her level given her age. Or maybe that's the critical factor? Anyway, congratulations for her and Mat for this achievement!

As opposed to other sports where there is no risk 🤔 I guess you think it’s better to sit on the couch all day where you’re nice and safe.

@@michaelwright9101 Nah I just think it's better to do controlled movements that actually train the muscles over the body's full range of motion, instead of making up an arbitrary sets of rules that let's me do as many as possible by throwing my weight on my joints with momentum an hope they last. I loved the initial idea of crossfit of being an all around athlete capable of dealing with any thing and everything, but it has turned into a competition of who can cheat the most efficiently while not destroying their joints. For example: why has one of the most basic movements, the pull-up, turned into damn a leg exercise? Where the only goal is to throw the very tip of your chin just above the bar or to bend your entire body back to make the chest touch it? Like not even all olympic level gymnasts are able to do 50 proper pull ups (look at Nile wilson), but for some reason those are the kind of numbers many crossfit workouts are demanding. And any climber knows that the functional range of a pull up is when the elbows lock at your side which is way after your chin clears the bar, and to actually get functionnally strong you need to train your muscles over that entire range not just use momentum to get into it. And furthemore what is functional about building so bulky legs that they they're literally stumbling on their own body when they do the most basic movement pattern our bodies have, running? Don't get me wrong, the cardio crossfit bulds is insanely impressive, and kipping is not inherently bad: It can be used to create extremely functional movements like in parkour, gymnastics and climbing. But when kipping becomes the norm to meet absurd arbitrary movement standards then it undermines the entire core about functionality. This became a bit of a rant, but I really think crossfit is a fantastic concept but with horrible implimentation. Not to mention that it's turning to a corporate ploy to sell gym's "necessary" equipment recently.
