I was at a stage of his in 1992 in Loano, Italy. He was a great teacher, with a very wide breath. I had never met someone like him, so charming at 67 y.o. I lost a big TV show where I could become famous to attend to his stage. A stronger force attired me to him and I never never regretted this in my life.I learnt from him the real, deep meaning of being an artist: the bigger the soul, the greater the artist. I had never known a great artist humbler than him. I had the privilege to sing on his piano, I'll never forget this in my life. Later, in my darkest years, I surprised myself talkin' to him during my night walks with the dog, looking at the starry sky. Like a thin wire was placed between the two of us and lasted all those years. He helped me in finding the way to myself. Some people really can change your life and make it worth living. I just regret it has taken me so much years to write this down. When I realized I would have liked to see you again, you were already gone. I just hope someone who had the privilege to be part of your private life to read this, and have my testimony of what they probably know, what a wonderful person you were. Thanks Mal. See You Later.

Beautiful words about a man that I have just heard for the first time. I feel in his playing what you've expressed about the man himself. Thank you for sharing your experience with him and what he meant to you. We live in a world that can be filled with such cynicism and darkness. It's amazing when we come across a soul that reflects the light of heaven that so many of us forget after birth. We are spirit and music reminds us of that fact when it's true. Mr. Waldron was and is the truth.

This song is NOT 'left alone' but ' All Alone' Aka 'Quiet Temple'. this version is part of a Dvd/Cd that Mal recorded in quartet with Jackie Mc Lean which is called" Left Alone 86" That theme can be heard in a French movie by Marcel Carné entitled '3 chambres à Manhattan'
