I remember listening to Mala at 3am on NYE at Northern Bass festival here in NZ. Easily one of my favourite sets i've ever seen, the vibe was out of the world. Bass was absolutely crushing and everyone was just vibing in the zone. Mala smoked easily an 8 inch joint to himself behind the decks and didn't skip a beat. Memories!

The only dubstep mix you need. Utter perfection and every tune a banger. Sums up dubstep at its peak UK underground before Americans and the mainstream took hold and ruined it. Went from the coolest freshest sound to the ugliest pitiful disgrace far too quick. I miss you dubstep circa 2007-2010

Dubstep is still alive and well my man, people didn't stop producing fire after 2010. Check out System Music, Innamind Recordings, Bandulu Records, Juan Forte, Artikal Music UK, Lion Charge Records, DNO records, Plantpower, Foundation Audio... There's a ton of labels and producers that still release amazing tunes every month! 2020 has been one of the best year in a while for Dubstep haha

Though on an educated note, Skream doesn't produce dubstep for years now and Benga took a break from it all, I think he returned with decent sound now. They may have gone brostep or sometimes bouncy less relevant shit, but sorry if you knew your shit, you'd know Skream and Benga are not really touchable, certainly not to be put in the same basket as Skrillex ahah you sad fuck. They helped creating and pushing the genre with Big Apple Records south London with Hatcha, Youngsta btw etc.. Massive moderators from day 1 when Skrillex has barely surfed on a trendy brostep wave, we talk what 5+ years ago, same as your tv show comments...Do you hear about Skrillex now?? Is he even relevant, no. When Skream and Benga do their things and made history in the genre, and they are the ones who fuck with Mala, DMZ or other real headz. For those who wonders how to be successfully in a particular field without having competition read « blue ocean strategy ». Thats what Skrillex did. Not surprised he succeeded. European dubstep was chill, smooth, musical, niche, etc. Skrillex did the complete opposite. Thats what is the « blue ocean strategy »!
