Malaska’s teaching theory is the most accurate once you understand it and execute it you will hit the ball effortlessly Mike is the best teacher explaining the simplicity of the golf swing

Mike Malaska is the man! Yours is the only instruction that works better the more I do it. I've heard things that helped me in the past but in almost every case too much was a just as bad as too little of whatever the "tip" was. The more I do what Mike says, the better I hit it. 3 corners and a flat spot!

I have had at least ten different club professional golfers give me golf lessons over the last thirty years. NONE of them helped me improve my game. I was a six handicapper so fairly reasonable amateur golfer. Not one of them explained about momentum. All ten of them who shall remain nameless need to watch this video from Mike Malaska. My advice to any new golfer don't waste your time getting lessons from any club professional be very careful who you select.

Nice. Just found out about Mr. Malaska, I fully agree. I found Manuel de la Torre first (who teaches his version of his father's version of Earnest Jones' method-the proper swing I now call it.) and have recently adopted this type of swing. It has been fantastic for my accuracy and consistency. Golf is fun again! I'll look at more MG content. I like what he's sayin'.

agreed... I use MDT method also and Mike's teaching is the most similar I can find on YT.

Simply one of the best simple explanation of the physics of a golf swing without using scientific terms, etc. I love the explanation of how momentum and inertia are the true driving forces in a swing for power and consistency.

This is such a easy move and the ball flight is great . Takes all the pressure off your back . Once you get used to the move . Do the the two hand split drill you will belt that ball with what seems like way less effort .
@normankleinberg55258 жыл бұрын
I want to follow Mike's teachings because first, they make so much sense and second, they are telling me what I WANT to hear; i.e. you don't need to drive the swing with your body, arms and hands properly used are the key. Unfortunately, his drills (e.g. "L to L", "Split Grip) don't work for me because I'm TOO handsy, I keep hitting behind the ball as I release too early. A tip on correcting hat flaw would be most appreciated.

Im self taught and have got down to a good standard having taken up golf late in life, one of the reasons must be some of the practice drills i do. Yes although Ive just discovered Mike, split handed swinging is in my top 5 drills But one of the main drills I did a lot of but dont do much now is a rope/towel across my back held under my arms half swings, Mike may not agree with this but together with split hand and feet together drills may make u less handsy and remember to be aware of the whole shaft at impact,like a baseball bat /tennis racket rather than hitting at the ball with the clubhead
@grahamjones73717 жыл бұрын
For a "whacky" practice drill swing a yard of thick rope, if you are to handsy you will whack youreself ! if you keep the body moving and release, the rope will land softly on your shoulders
@chachifeere4 жыл бұрын
Mike I get the shanks bad once in a while You said “ keep the ends in here” When I swing should I try and keep my hands as close to the body/legs as possible
@Thegooob953 жыл бұрын
In my experience the hands need to go close to the legs, yes. You don’t want them going out You want them returning to where they were at address by redirecting the momentum of the club on its path (aka, tip the shaft, return the hands, let the momentum take you through impact)

Another nice video Mr. Malaska. Do you happen to have any affiliations with instructors in the St. Louis, MO metro area? I am returning to golf after a very long hiatus and as a reward for weight loss. I have tried several different instructors but cannot find one that follows your philosophy. This has ended up with me being worse than before I tried lessons.

Interesting. Mike's beliefs on the position of the hands coming down are markedly different from those of Bradley Hughes. Either that....or both instructors are trying to teach arriving at impact position using 2 drastically different concepts.
@guitar19504 жыл бұрын
Yes, I've watched a lot of Bradley's videos and he teaches the hands go out. I keep trying to understand the difference. Maybe because Bradley rotates his forearms??
