Malaska is the best teacher out there. I started when I was a teenager and stopped mid twenties. Im 37 and only now I really learned how to make good contact with the ball. I've been watching Malaska videos for abt 10 months. Practicing for 6 months and Finally eureka moment came yesterday and getting more natural that pro transition movement. And hitting solid and effortless getting the hip out of the way. Only missed 5 balls out of 240 balls hit.

I have only been following the channel for a few days and for sure my whole concept of the golf swing has radically changed. I have been trying to force the club to do all sorts of things rather than allowing it to do what it should do naturally. My grip pressure now stays very light, even through impact and, without thinking about it, my head stays on the ball until my shoulders pull it around. All in all a revalation, I agree with other comments that the channel is the best on You Tube. Thank you so much Mike.

as a 6'5" guy that lag move killed my game. I kept trying to hold the angle and it made me so handsy and made me lunge at the ball. I heard Nick Faldo talking about tall players just need to let the angle release and just fall from the top. It really worked. I really like Mr. Malaska's teaching style and understanding of the swing.

oh what a perfect lesson! was just told during a fitting that I setup with the club face open and behind the ball. When the fitter reset me correctly it looked exactly how Mike describes it here - way out in front and closed. Super helpful to know what visual i'm looking for. No one has ever explained it before.

Great video, the one arm chipping is a great idea for teaching correct hand action, The German who won the US open at Pinehurst was Martin Kaymer who if my memory serves me right hardly hit a pitch or chip all week , prefering to use his putter and win by 8 shots, what ever it takes LOL.

For another demo try setting up normal then drift and/or rotate your head 1-2 inches left, then right, and see how different the club looks even when it’s standing still. Head position is not discussed enough.

For any of you guitar players out there... if you recall first starting scale practice... how slow and monotonous it was? It's even more intense with golf. It is only worse if you've engrained certain habits.. but not impossible. Play slow for 3 days straight... don't worry about distance... where the ball goes..focus solely on slow takeaway and practice swings. If you can do this... I PROMISE... your perception will start to shift and you'll become super involved from the discoveries due to this slow motion. The club won't allow you to swing incorrectly, if you do, it will feel really "wrong".

@10:20 This is EXACTLY what gets people. I'm guilty of it time and time again. I'll have this nice easy swing going, and wonder if It's "ok" or "right". End of the day, you have to stick with what is working for you. If you have a clear picture of what you want to do, and you achieve that... don't try and "improve" anything. Just go out and play. Enjoy the game. It's when you don't know what you're doing to cause the result that burdens a person. I know for a fact no one likes "getting it" and then the next day they are warming up and shanking balls with a wedge or not "seeing" what they saw the day prior. Cameras are huge, but writing down things benefits you more than anything. If you wanna take anything seriously, you gotta put your heart into it and not worry about what others are saying or doing. COUGH Moe Norman COUGH. is a prime example of NOT GIVING A FUCK ABOUT THE STANDARD. Pardon my language.

I don’t think “impact” is in fact the most important thing in the game. Yes impact is a scientific fact but unless you feel you are swinging through the ball it is hopeless. Thinking “impact” creates a direct hitter of the ball. Please don’t get me wrong. I think 95 percent of mike’s teaching is incredibly good.

Uttering the word impact conveys no knowledge Also the word "Impact" suggests a stopping at the ball or a meeting of the ball which is dead wrong as a feeling. Unless the swing is felt like a sweeping motion the effort is useless

To much paralysis by analyst, no wonder handicap despite technology are the same average as when I started playing
